I'm pretty sure Tiger's mom is only Thai. I've never heard otherwise

I read his mother is Thai, but their are many many ethnic Chinese who live in Thailand (something like 15% of the population) and their have intermarried into the upperclass...and lowerclass I guess...so it is quite possible she has Chinese relatives.

Of course, I always thought that Tiger's dad was 3/4 black and 1/4 Native American. His mom I knew was mostly Thai and part Chinese.

Of course, I always thought that Tiger's dad was 3/4 black and 1/4 Native American.
80% of black Americans have a direct white ancestor, at least one, but obviously some of us have more, look don't matter, I am dark complected, but on my mother's side I have more than one direct ancestors, and it shows on her side of the family, once in awhile, some kid will be born with hazel, grey, or green eyes, hair texture varies, and so does skin color. My mother was just a little darker than my wife, but both her parents were brown skin. My grandmother had hazel eyes... So yeah it is more than likely that Tiger's father has white ancestory too, although it might not have been recent ancestory. |

The Rock: forever typecast as an action-hero actor. I wonder if he minds? We complain about these labels on certain AA actors/actresses. But it seems some are destined to wear them.
Can it be all that bad? ![]()

Well I don't think he has the right to mind. He is first a pro-wrestler, THEN an actor. If he decides to persue acting instead of PRO-Wrestling after his career, then he needs to prove that he can act. But based on RAW and Smackdown and what I saw in Scorpion King, he is not that great at actign...
But not bad... |

Well about the white ancestry thing that Ras mentioned, I think most if not all black people are aware of that. I guess I fit into the 20% that does not have a direct white ancestor, but I know I have Cherokee ancestors. |

Can it be all that bad?
Well, it's not like he's been typecast as a martial arts guy (not that it would matter, anyway, since he's Samoan, not east Asian). And he is a pro wrestler. Could you really take him seriously as, say, the lead in a romantic comedy? With the shaved chest and the bulging muscles?

Look at Depardieu (if you can stand it). http://www.depardieu.8m.com/img11.gif
