Reading the X-Men threads made me realize that I don't know too many DC fans in real life or online.

Anyone here besides me like DC more? Superman's kind of lame, but he has some good stories sometimes. I guess I like DC a lot because I'm a big Batman fanatic. The JLA stuff is pretty good too. The characters just seem more 3-dimensional in DC. Maybe it's because they have more time (decades more than Marvel) to develop the characters.

Also, DC titles usually come out on time. That's a big plus for me.

no way. the most popular title characters in Marvel have been 3-dimensional ever since their creation. most of what Stan Lee created are 3-dimensional from the get-go, and that was back in the early 60s.

Being 3-dimensional for a longer period of time doesn't necessarily make you more 3-dimensional.

I agree that Marvel's 60's stories were much better than DC's, but DC played catchup really well and lately I feel like their characters are much better.

i only liked dc because of batman, everyone else sucked esp superman. I really liked the part when batman was out of commission and they introduced another guy with a super high tech bat suit, and then batman beat the shit outta that guy later on for wanting to put him outta business. man that part was nice.

i actually liked DC more, just the over all fact they seem a BIT more overpowered than marvel....marvel to me does seem more 3 dimensional....less power trip and more character development....but that's just my imho

DC Comics in the past ( i have not read a comic in about a few years now) seem to have bee grittier, a little more dark and the like, while Marvel did not have that aura about themselves.

The lack of "round" characters is exactly why I never cared for DC comics. Superman always wins, Batman always save the day, etc. Not the case with Marvel Comics. But I stopped reading comics a while back, though. *shrugs*

I tend to read more DC comics. I like their darker themed comics like Sandman, Batman, Death, Kingdom Come Series, some of the newer JLA, Flash, Young Justice, and Green Lantern has really great writing.

Although not alot of people read Daredevil, you should read the series that Kevin Smith penned. VERY GOOD. The twist is beyond me. And it's really really good.

But I tend to lean towards weirder comics like Kabuki, Bone series, Lady Death, and Spawn.

Damn I'm such a geek. :nerd:

oh Kabuki is excellent. David Mack is very talented. the only time i bought Daredevil was when he drew for it.

but it was when he relaunched Kabuki at Image that was the real shit. he defenestrated traditional panel-by-panel story-telling and each page was like a painting.

Marvel comics. Only bought DC comics on occasion. Don't buy comics anymore now. Well, maybe manga. :)
