stupid sales girls

so, I went to bath and body works to get some pedicure stuff..
i had a 10 dollar off cupon with any purchase from their spa line.

so, i got this 13 dollar little sample pack of pedicure stuff..footlotion, scrub, a nail brush, and a file... and picked up one of those foot file things to get for free.

the girl tries to tell me there's a 25 dollar deal, three items for 25 dollars. That i'll only spend 2 more dollars and get a better deal... i had to repeteatly try,... yes TRY to tell her I had a ten dollar off cupon, therefore only spending 13 bucks.

i finally had to tell her I had the full sized stuff (which was true, I wanted to get the foot file for free... )

but man... why do sales assistants not listen.?

So... You had all that stuff at home, and you spent $13 to get a foot file (I assume you're talking about an emory board or something like it) for "free"?

So...the stuff you bought was 23 bucks and you used your coupon for 10 off making it 13 for 2 items, but if you got one more item, regardless of the price, it would've been 25 dollars, so you could've gotten a huge 10 dollar item making the value of what you would buy 33 dollars, even though with the sale you would get it for 25 dollars and with your coupon it'd be 15.

Spending 2 more dollars to get 10 extra dollars worth of value sounds like a good deal to me...<shrug>

It's the transformation of the idea that salespersons no longer serve a customer. Today, salespeople feed consumers. A customer is someone you create a relationship with, temporary or not, to give them service. A consumer, on the other hand, is a mindless purchaser and they do not know what they really want, as they only know how to consume, and not to be served. There is no such thing as loyalty anymore, and retailers know this, creating credit cards, reward programs, and other ways to retain customers, knowing that service is not going to cut it anymore. Since service has no impact on retaining a customer, they toss it out the window. It's sad.

been 15 dollars after the coupon?
so then you would've gotten the
third item for only 2 more dollars?!?

wait. nevermind. i guess the coupon
wasn't usuable for that deal.

ok.. my post i guess is confusing

the set i got was 13 dollars, the "pedifile" 10... minus 10 dollar cupon... i spend 13 dollars

the dealie thingy... 25 dollars... plus pedifile minus cupon, i spend 25 dollars...

so yeah, she kept on forgetting to subtract the 10 dollars off thang

...and the set i got had more stuff in it than what I alredy had...

We never listen because we are forced to sell things that we don't really want to. If we don't ask then we have a manager waiting to know why we didn't ask. If you don't like sales people selling you extra shit complain to the management. Maybe if they get enough complaints they can see people know what they hell they want to buy when they come into the store. We supposed to treat customers like idiots and offer them everything under the sun.
