Chicken Salad, Tuna Salad, Seafood Salad, and Turkey.
I eschew from mayonnaise (or additional mayonnaise in the case of the salad type fillings) and instead prefer heavy slatherings of Dijon mustard. Can't stand plain yellow, must be dijon with lots of pepper, cucumbers, lettuce, tomatoes, and on occassion, jalepeno/banana peppers and black olives. I also like vegetarian sandwiches with gouda, gruyere or swiss cheeses, veggies, and dijon mustard. :)

Minced meat, I think. It's like a meat paste of some sort. Or tuna-ish in appearance and texture.

My goodness... In Skibbereen, Ireland, there's this little restaurant there, I wish I could remember it's name, but it had a GREAT salmon sandwhich there. I SO want to go back and get it, it is just SO good. I get a tingly feeling just thinking about it. :luv:
But what's available to me... roast beef, tomatoes (preferably sun-dried), lettuce, avocado, peppers, pepper, mayo, mustard... I still want that sandwhich from Ireland! ... Kind of expensive to go there just for a sandwhich though... :( |

I had these fantastic subs when I was staying in Nice. Fresh tuna. Fresh baguettes. Hard boiled egg slices too. Great sunny weather. This weathered old man ran the stand I'd get the sandwiches at. He spoke fantastic Italian-inflected French. My friends and I would drop by there after taking the rather useless classes at the local language institute.
I wonder if that old man is there now. I wish I could go back. |
