Porn-for-Troops Plan Draws Protest

DirectLink Media Group offers free videotapes and DVDs to soldiers and veterans anywhere in the world (link is NOT work-safe), with soldiers paying for shipping charges. This has garnered anger from several groups. "This is an abominable marketing trick by pornographers who care nothing about our troops," said Jan LaRue of Concerned Women of America. Plus, these "Muslim countries generally don't allow anything like this."

Rev. Martin Drummond decided to try a sincere approach, writing to the company: "Do you realize that one of the reasons the radical Islamic movement so dislikes America is because of its tolerance of pornography? What kind of support will our troops find in Middle Eastern countries if the soldiers are seen as porn-starved trigger jockeys? Your effort will give new life to the allegation that we are not a nation of character, but instead of carnal compromise."

heh, thats gotta be one of the most hypocritical things about those muslim countries. they all SAY that its bad, but once u give them internet access, the first thing they do is search for pr0n.

actually the most pertinent reason that radical islamic movements dislike america is the fact that america does whatever it wants, whenever it wants. al-qaeda itself was formed because america would not send its troops home after the first gulf war.

They'll look at porn anyway, why not make it free? Whenever I was on a military base, in somebody's room, the most commonly seen items were porno mags. They litter their rooms with them already... I don't think it matters.

why stop there? why not send them pre-paid prostitutes? besides relieving stress, it'd boost morale and cut down on rapes.

whatever, men always get into homoerotic situations when in close quarters and when there is high intensity. happened all through the history of war...i know a straight guy that had a male lover when he was in the navy...he's in his sixties now...it happens. ChinaLama is right. but i wouldn't like the porn because it creates too much sexual tension and then when they find a real sexual partner they'll go haywire on them. that is not good.

I think too much sexual tension would be these guys not HAVING an outlet like porn to release their pent up sexual frustruations on.
