I know that this is a semi-old topic, but I just heard that some school was banning it on WILD 94.9. I thought that it was interesting how parents and other adults think that freak dancing leads to people having sex. Is that true? My mom started talking to me about it after hearing that in the car. She went on about how it excites the guys and then they want to leave and you go with them, and that's how it leads to sex and pregnancy. She said that people don't carry around condoms, so people would be having unprotected sex. I don't know about other people, but I've never had this experience, so I thought she was just talking crazy. I read somewhere that teen pregnancies and all that sex stuff has lowered in the recent years. Doesn't that reflect something?

Anyway, back to the topic, do you guys think that they should ban "freak dancing?" Would it be right? Is it relevant, or are adults just freaking out about it (no pun intended)? Would cancelling future dances be the best thing to do to prevent this? And since when was it considered a "trend?"

I think it's all balogna, and parents are making up crap they don't know about. Pfft. Wouldn't be the first time "adults/parents" got scared by something they don't know/understand/tend to overthink and get paranoid about. <_<

it was banned at our middle school dances. our vice-principle walked around with a ruler because we had to be a foot apart or something.

Heh heh i remember the room we danced in was small (for the number of people in it, which was something like 100 of us kids at least) and it was dark, the parents/chaperones had cameras and shit but they couldn't see us, the dirty dancing went on behind a wall of people. ;)

Our dances can get dirty, but it's so crowded that chaperones can't even see. Either that, or they just don't do anything, they're just there to get their hours done. I don't know. It's all in good fun. :lol:
