I've hung out with a couple of Japanese female friends in college. All of them could careless if you're white. They don't think that makes you any more special than the next guy. Same with every non-Asian guy they've encountered. The 'gaijin-effect' doesn't do squat for them.

As for the af/wm, whatever floats yer boat. I ain't trippin about it since I've had my own w/ the am/wf situation. Do I have a preference? Nah...all about equal opportunity. B)

But don't get at me in a negative way because you had a bad experience(s) with us and generalize us as "this way." In other words quit hatin' and cock blockin. Who hasn't had bad experiences?

And yes I'm a little bitter about being constantly scrutinized, psychoanalyzed and criticized for being an Asian male. And I'm sure there are others that feel the same way.

Yeah, I meant the movie industry as well as the advertising industry over there which often uses caucasion, or at least euro-asian models in many of their ads.

i gotta say that i do agree with the bun-man to some degree... it's totally shitty that anyone, male or female asians get scrutinized or psychoanalyzed. generalizations like that sucks ass! shit... all my best guy friends are asian and they are NONE of that! i love how they treat my girlfriends (their SO). absolute respect.

as chrysalis... girl... don't let a few bad apples ruin you whole look on asian men. letting yourself build generalizations like that is only limiting yourself to possible happiness (cause you never know... the right dude might be asian but you'll miss him if you decide to let your past judge who he is before getting to know him).

plus i think generalizations like this is the building blocks towards just unhealthy thought-process in general.

and the hapa thing you mentioned, also happened to one of my high school friend when he was at stanford. my friend can pass for asian or white, he got jumped by a couple of asian guys just for talking to japanese girl.

when i called him to see how he was doing. he said: "get me the fuck out of here. this shit never happened to me in the 18 years i lived in nyc. they got mad issues out here."

I find it extremely disturbing. I had a Japanse-American friend go over to teach english and get no where near the attention his gaijin counterparts got from Japanese girls. He'd have had a better chance here in the states. You want to read something sad, read this journal by a gaijin in Japan. This guy had never even been with a girl before he got there, and now he is getting laid massively.

In the UK, people from South Asia are referred to as Asian and people from East Asia are referred to as Oriental.
