Britney Spears to adopt Chinese twins

The desperate singer has told friends she's in the final stages of talks with an adoption agency and plans to go ahead with the move very soon.

This latest twist in the Britney saga comes after the recent news that hubby KEVIN FEDERLINE has been given full custody of the children Sean Preston, two, and one-year-old Jayden James.

My snapper caught Britney, who still has access to the kids, enjoying a precious moment with her boys at her home in LA on Friday.

Friends feel that Britney has decided to adopt the two six-year-old tots from China in a frantic bid to fill the void left by losing her sons to K-Fed.

Britney's bad week got even worse when she was banned from driving with the kids in the car after she ran a red light in Hollywood.

And in another worrying move for the former Pop Princess, I can reveal she is splashing out £25,000 on her OWN funeral.

Apparently, Brit has forked out the cash because she fears her spiralling lifestyle may lead to an early grave.

The grim revelation has friends and family worried that Brit is growing increasingly depressed and that her unhealthy lifestyle is taking its toll.

But pals are baffled at the double whammy surprise.

A source close to Britney told me: "It doesn't seem that Britney has thought this through completely. Adoption and a funeral? The two don't exactly go hand-in-hand.

"Paying for a funeral is a sensible thing to do—but not when you're only 25!

"It's a case of too much, too soon with Britney.

"Not a week goes by without something strange happening to her now. She's doing herself no favours."

If Brit does go through with the adoption, she'll join the club of celeb mums who have done the same, including MADONNA and ANGELINA JOLIE.

how can she adopt these kids? i thought china implemented new rules where single parents couldn't adopt. or do the rules not apply to celebs w/ $$? picture perfect case where these rules would have proven beneficial.

I think this is detrimental to the image of the chinese if any idiot can adopt to try and improve her image or make them have good feelings about themselves.

Symbolically, this means any white idiot can be a saviour to the chinese?

if it's true - normally i would be happy that those kids would grow up in luxury. but in this case, i worry for their mental health. and damn, Asian kids are becoming the new toy puppy for celebrities.

umm...didn't she drop one of her kids once? how about that one time she drove with her kid in her lap? she's smart with her real kids, so yeah, i think the adopted ones will fare just as well.

(BUM) Britney Spears, who no longer has custody of her own children, is trying to adopt Chinese twins.

According to FemaleFirst, the 25-year-old singer, who recently lost custody of her own children, Jayden James, 1, and Sean Preston, 2, is in the final stages of the adoption of six-year-old twin girls from China.

Spears' close friends and family believe that the star is trying to fill a void since she lost custody of her own children. Spears feels that giving children that have no one a home is fulfilling for her.

A source close to the singer of Gimme More explained, "She misses her boys terribly and needs them in her life. She thinks adopting the twins is the perfect solution."

In addition to doing drug and alcohol screening tests, Spears also has to take classes on parenting skills, as ordered by the judge ruling on the custody of her two boys.
