Who cares who goes out with who as long as it's a serious relationship where both parties appreciate each other for their individuality, ideals, ambitions, personality etc etc. If they like each other not for their race , but for their person, then it's a decent relationship.

though the video is meant as tongue in cheek humor, watching it made me realize that almost everyone in it with the exception of maybe one should have been aborted as a fetus cuz they're such a fucking eyesore and suffer from at least one deformity from the ugliness checklist.

of vital importance is that the fruity looking dark jungle asian dude in the beginning of the clip should never ever under any circumstances meet up with that burly asian chick with the mustache in blue. the both of them can never ever hook up and risk combining both their ugliness in the form of an offspring.

anyway the moral of the story for asian guys? date white women.

Yes, I did JUST JOIN this forum looking to talk about whatever relating to asian american relationships, etc. You dont have to be so rude about it.

Thanks for letting us all know that you are done with this "subject". You could of just ignored the thread all together, but thanks for going out of your way and giving us all a heads up.

It seems as though a lot of people in the asian community want to leave this "subject" as the big white elephant in the room. Dont ask, dont tell and everything will be all gravy. If thats how some of you want to deal with it then more power to ya.

The misunderstanding goes both ways. I guess you ignored the part about how these discussions are a dime a dozen. The reason why many of us are so sick of them is just because they've been shoved in our faces so many times. Furthermore, perhaps it wouldn't be as bad if anything good or productive ever came out of these rants. Frankly, and I'm not just saying this to be mean nor am I directing this at you, I'm not surprised that many of the guys that complain repeatedly about the IR issue have trouble getting dates.

From what I've seen, the vast majority of people who bitch and whine about this are doing jackshit to improve the portrayal and representation of Asian Americans in media and society - in other words, they deserve what's coming to them if they aren't motivated enough to do anything beyond ranting and making sweeping generalizations on a forum. The people who accomplish the most are those who have a much more healthy focus toward AA issues and activism in general beyond getting laid and blaming Asian women for selling out. We can forgive you for being the new guy, just don't assume that everyone is just bent on avoiding the topic.

Again, I didnt know this topic was beaten to death. My apologizes, but it does piss me off to see asian girls slam us asian guys like this.

You dont see a huge number of other races doing this to their opposite sex.

I can get dates, but believe me, for asian guys in my area, its pretty hard cause we have slim pickings. Mostly all the really hot asian girls ONLY go for white frat guys. They wouldnt give an asian guy the time or day.

I think discussions like this should be allowed to continue. If you're tired of the topic, ignore it or watch it until you have a good point to contribute. But we should definitely watch the misogyny and keep it in check. Same with arguments about AAMs with inferiority complexes -- attacking the victim doesn't do much for anyone, and I believe the root cause of the problem ( the media that keeps telling us that we're inferior, unattractive, etc. ) is never adequately addressed when this happens. Discussion is needed for growth, and there are a lot of AAs who are just coming into their identity, or still need time -- and we need to help them, rather than looking down our noses at the people we once were, yeah? Just my two cents.

Where do you live? Whenever I see an AF/WM couple, it's usually an unattractive Asian chick matched up to an equally unattractive white guy. It's perfect.

Sometimes, it's an unattractive Asian chick matched up to a relatively attractive white dude. It's like the white dude is blind or something. But as long as they're happy, good for them!

Not necessarily disagreeing right now, but there is a function available that allows one to search the forum for thread topics that already exist. I, for one, would appreciate it if both new and established members would remember to use this function and revive existing threads rather than post duplicate topics. I really think that would help a lot to reduce the perceived "beating to death" of certain topics around here.

Also, I find it amusing that people who come to vent about or attack interracial dating are surprised that their bitterness is not rewarded with waves of sympathy or calls for militant action. Um, get a therapist.

that's so mean, you should give a chance, maybe their children would get the best of them instead of .... screw it, you are right, those 2 should be kept apart just to prevent any accidents.

yeah, i wish i were a being that didn't think too much about these things either, but to some people, these things just are offensive (for different reasons i guess).

Race shouldn't matter, but it does. Looks are important and race is a part of what you look like so therefore, race is a big deal in this way.

Some people see the mentality seen in the video as a bad thing because:

1) It is just racist, putting white people on a higher ranking than asians

2) How this mentality came about. Things like media/cultural influences enforcing anti-asian pro-white stereotypes. (I personally hate this since i was a pretty brainwashed self hating asian guy at one in my teenage years. It was both a relief and a horrible experience when i realised what i was doing. )

3) Some people see it as remnants of the old colonialism (forcing the coloniser's cultural norms on the the colonised people, in this case, facial features associated with whites are promoted as being superior to non-white features) and whether or not there is mutual respect and all that in a relationship, it still represents this colonialism. Usually with women, since it is the women who are seen as the prize/dominated and men being the dominant ones. The men of the other race, ie. asians, are delegated to a 'beta male' kind of rank. This makes a lot of asian guys angry.

4) Personally, i also hate the fact that whites being racist to asians so much while growing up gets a lot of us into thinking things like

"omg this white person, he/she likes asians, it's getting over racism!!1 [bends over]"

it reminds me of stockholm syndrome, makes me think it is something similar almost. I used to think this as well and looking back on it, this and everything else to do with racism turned me into such a little bitch (in a willing prison bitch kind of way)...

this is so strange. i have never had to deal with any self-hating issues at all. i have always been very pro-asian and have only dated asian guys. sure i might flirt and joke around with white guys but i would never go out with them. k-8 was all chinese, i went to a predominantly black hs on the west side of chicago, and college has been really really diverse, but mostly lots of blacks and latinos. so if anything i should be either of those "washed" but i'm not. well, maybe in speech but nothing else(read: don't want to date them).
