NEW YORK (AP) — Lisa Ling, National Geographic Channel correspondent and former co-host of “The View,” got engaged to Paul Song, a Chicago-based doctor, over the holidays.

Ling and Song plan to marry later this year in Los Angeles, Chris Albert, a representative for the National Geographic Channel, said in an e-mail to The Associated Press on Wednesday.

The 41-year-old Song, an oncologist, popped the question to Ling, 33, alongside their families at a Chicago restaurant, Albert said.

Ling, who is also a correspondent for Oprah Winfrey's talk show, ended her engagement to entrepreneur Philip Levine in October 2005. She left ABC's “The View” in 2002 after three years, and went on to host National Geographic's “Ultimate Explorer.”

it's also a Chinese surname: 宋. i think a lot of Hmong surnames have Chinese roots. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hmong_Surnames

So she was engaged to Yune at first, then dumped his ass, then she was dating some white dude that was in the business, got engaged to him, promptly dumped his ass. Now third time's the charm I assume. I will always envy women having the luxury of being picky.

as far as i know, and it isn't that much when the topic is lisa ling (damn, almost called her tia ling if you know what i mean =]), is that she wasn't engaged to Yune. They were only rumored to be dating but yeah, I thought she was engaged to some Jew a while back.

Although she has gotten pissed time and time again with people confusing her and Lucy Liu, in that shot she does seem to bear a very slight resemblance. Not an extreme one, but just vague.
