America's Smartest Cities 2006 - Forbes.com

Is your city on the list? If not, you're dumb.

Re: America's Smartest Cities 2006 - Forbes.com

i don't need forbes to infer that my city is dumb. i already knows that.

does that mean if i move to any of those top 10, i will inherently become smarter?

Re: America's Smartest Cities 2006 - Forbes.com

Since when does having a bachelor's degree imply intelligence? And besides that, what kind of intelligence are we talking about? Mathematical, analytical knowledge required to earn a degree in, say, civil engineering or physics? Or intelligence in a more metaphysical sense, the kind that's required to earn a degree in something like political science, philosphy, or even sociology?

Lists like this mean absolutely nothing. Hell, Huntsville is supposed to be a pretty smart city with NASA and countless other high-tech employers located here. But all I see here is a bunch of beverly hillbillies.

I'm suspicious of people who are "extremely educated" or "highly educated" - they tend to be the kind of people who have book smarts for days, but lack "walking round sense" as my grandma would say. They give you a list of the most intelligent cities in the U.S. without defining intelligence (well actually they do define it - it's just not a satisfactory definition).

The hell with this list.
