I don't see the flaw in seeing how cultures influence each other. Asian influence has had an impact on Western. It was a misconception I got from bad information. So, Fireblade, do me a favor and don't refer to me as stupid for ignorance.

Ever heard of street smarts? Some things should be known universally. If not, leave the bubble world you reside in, and live in the real world.

It's like that kid I once met who told me that the idea of You and I and Them did not exist in the Chinese language. I'm sorry, but it does, as does the idea of love in history. There are many forms of love, and with something that resonates within every society and culture, it's unwise to refute claim to it.

If you don't want answers like these, then don't ask them at all. If you think I'm bad, believe me... there are plenty others who are worst. I only mentioned it because after all that was said and done, it seemed like you were referencing a book, instead of trying to listen to us. We're not here as a big ol asian reference guide to every damn question you have. Go learn about it, but don't be surprised if many of us are quite quick to laugh off your questions. We're not educators.

right, Gaki, no offense or anything, but this site isn't an "Asian encyclopedia" for non-Asian people. wikipedia is probably better, or failing that, there's always google.

you are welcome to participate here, but know that this site serves the Asian American community first and foremost, so don't be surprised if stupid questions from non-Asian people are met with the kind of responses you've seen in this thread.

you're reminding me of the white lady on that show Black. White. that thought wearing African garb to a black church was appropriate attire and that black women regularly say "yo yo bitch" to each other.
