A mind-reading game
This is one of those games that does the rounds by internet. One of my colleagues just played it with me, and correctly guessed what I was thinking.
This is a genuine trick, nothing silly on my part. Read the following questions, and jot down the first answer that comes to mind. * Just follow these instructions, and answer the questions one at a time and as quickly as you can! * Again, as quickly as you can but don't advance until you've done each of them ... really. * Now, scroll down (but not too fast, you might miss something.) Think of a number from 1 to 10 Multiply that number by 9 If the number is a 2-digit number, add the digits together Now subtract 5 Determine which letter in the alphabet corresponds to the number you ended up with (example: 1=a, 2=b, 3=c,etc.) Think of a country that starts with that letter. Remember the last letter of the name of that country. Think of the name of an animal that starts with that letter. Remember the last letter in the name of that animal. Think of the name of a fruit that starts with that letter. Are you thinking of a Kangaroo in Denmark eating an Orange? Did it work? |

Don't feel too bad Martino. You got one out three with me. I was thinking of a Koala bear eating raspberries in Denmark.

Re: A mind-reading game
Think of a number from 1 to 10 Multiply that number by 9 If the number is a 2-digit number, add the digits together This is always going to result in the sum of the digits being "9". Now subtract 5 Hence, this answer will always be "4". Determine which letter in the alphabet corresponds to the number you ended up with (example: 1=a, 2=b, 3=c,etc.) Resultingly, this answer will always be "d". Think of a country that starts with that letter. This is where the "trick" fails. The writer foolishly assumes our minds are going to only care/know about the Western world and use the primary standard naming conventions. Having the first 4 people answering being CS/EE/Math/etc. types is definately going to screw up the trick ... Remember the last letter of the name of that country. Think of the name of an animal that starts with that letter. Remember the last letter in the name of that animal. Think of the name of a fruit that starts with that letter. Are you thinking of a Kangaroo in Denmark eating an Orange? Did it work? |

Re: A mind-reading game
I got a Koala in Denmark eating an Apple. Deutschland was the first country that came to mind though. Had I gone that route, it would've been a donkey eating a...yam?? Yellow banana?
