We were talking about this not too long ago, about how girls nowadays (and maybe men do too, perhaps the ladies can shed light on this?) put all this shit on their face, their hair, their titties, etc. that basically makes them completely different physically than what they naturally look like, and how back in the 70s women had more natural beauty. Like yeah, they had make-up, but not as much. Yeah, they dyed their hair, but not as much (it seems like black women NEVER dyed their hair............I've never seen any photo/movie from the 70s with a black woman that had anything but black hair)..........I guess something similar would be the case for asian women, who like blacks, have naturally black hair, but in recent years have dyed their hair every color under the sun, and some have even tried braiding their hair (like black women). Likewise many black women would never dream of getting rid of that perm...............could you imagine a black woman like Condoleeza Rice or Oprah Winfrey wearing their hair natural? Everybody would laugh at their nappy-headed asses, even black people. I'm pretty sure a lot of asian people don't look like they naturally appear either..............the point is, whatever happened to natural beauty? Why so much make-up? Why so much hair-dying? Why so much of all this superficial bullshit...................natural beauty really is the best kind, and sometimes it just irritates me. Maybe it's just me? Am I the only one who thinks like this?

I think media portrayal of what is beautiful plays a big role in what you're talking about. I know some girls I've known for years and have yet to see them without make up. I think we've gotton so used to seeing make-up that anyone who doesn't is generally perceived as less attractive.

Personally I prefer women use maybe a little make-up to enhance an already naturally beautiful face vs. some who relies on it to look pretty and is obviously wearing too much. Which would rather wake up next to?

I'm also not a big fan of fake breasts.

I remember having a discussion with a co-worker who is "high maintance", and I was telling her I was glad to be a guy because I didn't have to deal with make-up, and fancy hair-dos, and nails and all this other bullshit. It takes me one minute to style my hair and two minutes to put on nice clothes to look good. Damn I got it easy .

speaking from woman's point of view, there are certainly disadvantages to not slutting it up a bit (i never wear makeup) in the real world. its a hard balance between looking natural and "fake" -- it actually takes more time to "enhance" than slapping on a ton of makeup and running out the door.

I think the reason Black women didn't dye their hair as much or as obviously (blonde) back in the day is because dye didn't work on dark colored hair as well back then.

My grandmother had some stories to tell on that point.

Got so fed up with the dyes available that she chopped her hair off as a teen.

I really admire natural beauty. And even if a person isn't naturally too beautiful, there is something about a wizzywig body that has an appeal.

There is a confidence that comes across in it.
