cheesy things that married people do

for the second time, a friend of mine that's getting married has registered an email address that is used by both him and his wife - like for example, johnandjane@hotmail.com. what's up with that? maybe i just don't understand how it feels to be married. do they also routinely open each other's mail?

what are some other cheesy things that you've noticed married people do?

Does it become the primary email address for both of them? If they still maintain individual email addresses, then that one functions as the single point-of-contact for the event, not much different than a general "contact us" email address for a company that several people may read. For something like a wedding, it's easier than having people figure out which person to send the email to, then have the receipient forward it to whomever is really responsible for it. And I don't want all the wedding guests to have my personal email address anyway.

But yeah, the naming itself can be pretty cheesy. I'm sure two heads can come up with something more clever like ballandchain@hotmail.com or notacivilunion@gmail.com or livinginsinnomore@yahoo.com.

Do married couples still do monogrammed bath towels and face cloths? Or the pen and pencil sets? I always thought that stuff was kinda cheesy, but hey...when in love, you do what you gotta do, yey?

Re: cheesing things that married people do

What annoys me is how my friend's gf/fiance starts to answer everything for him. When we talk of the possibility of doing something that we've planned for a long time, she's all "Oh, no you're not!" in some authoritive mom voice. Shut up, you.

Re: cheesy things that married people do

Have you guys ever been over at a couple's place, and they show you pictures of themselves? I mean, it's cool for the first five minutes, but then the next hour is like a slow boring death. You just want it over already.

"and here, this is where me and dan took a picture, cuz the sunlight was so pretty. isn't that right honey?"

"yup."

"so we're going to get married in the late afternoon, because the sunlight is so pretty at the time. Don't you think it'll look great in my wedding gown? We're planning already." - *giggles*

me - Umm.. you guys? Can you just give me the gun to blow my brains out already? Like... seriously.

Re: cheesy things that married people do

I think the seemingly coordinated outfits is just a happenstance of our culture.

I some ways we (this society) seem to be caught up in the Gap or (gasp) A&F fashion.

That is you shop at one of these stores, and all they seem to offer is the same thing for both sexes: kakhi pants and cotton button shirts. So, you get your self dressed in the morning, only to discover, that the SO has about worn the same damn thing.

Re: cheesy things that married people do

its not just email...
but i know some couples...
who share each others password...
when it comes to forums they both
participate on...

i would never do that...
since well, i'm not one who
likes the thoughts of sharing
the same internet space with my s/o...

so yeah...
nothing else comes to my mind...
when it comes to adding to this discussion...
yeah, OH Well...
