I hear it's bad for both the European and American economy, but the details escape me.

Read here for the thoughts of a typical member of the French right (who naturally voted "non").

But they also seem to be bothered by "Anglo-Saxon" economics and "The Polish Plumber".

So they're worried from every direction it seems.

Well you can definitely draw strong parallels with the yellow invasion seen in businesses in the US and the "inexhaustible tide of undocumented immigrants" from South America seen here.

It's a hiccup in the unification process, sure, but it was predictable one. There's a mood in France right now that the politicians are ignoring the people, and this was a very different 'Non' vote to what we expect to see from the Dutch in their referendum.

The constitutional treaty isn't dead, far from it. 50% of Europe has already voted Yes to it, and the French will be back on board when their concerns are addressed. Europe needs the treaty, and the French more than most countries see it as a natural progression in Europe's history.

They're disgruntled with politicians and bureaucrats in general, over a lot of issues. France was a protest vote.

constitution? who needs one? i mean, we have one right here that hasn't been used much of late; maybe they'd be interested in buying ours?
