what does it take to lead Asian Americans?

No different than the traits of any good leader? Or are there skills and traits particular to someone leading Asian Americans or an Asian American organization? Is language and ethnic origin important? Does s/he have to be a unifier and promote pan-Asian identity? What type of background would or should a leader of AAs have?

Re: what does it take to lead Asian Americans?

I think leadership skill of the individual person is very important. I don't care the person's ethnicity or cultural background, as long as he/she represents our interests and stands up to our beliefs. For me personally, I will not support any AA conservative/right wing candidate who will end up becoming another lap dog or token minority like Terence Thomas for the GOP. That's just disgusting.

Re: what does it take to lead Asian Americans?

More committees and grassroots style of leadership. It's not only about the leaders of our communities, but also the empowerment of our communities in the process. Oh, for APIAs? I'm not sure, it'll depend on the specific ethnic group.

Extremely high leadership skills and shit load of charisma.

I've noticed that us asians have to be way better than normal in some things in order to get credit for it.

Leaders need followers. Why do you need to follow a leader?

Re: what does it take to lead Asian Americans?

Because then you have people doing their own thing which lessens their overall strength. Why don't we just get rid of military officers and let the soldiers do whatever they want?
