Basically, it means a straight guy who pays as much attention to his appearance as a gay guy (who I guess pays as much attention to his appearance as a woman, but the analogy never goes that far). Since these guys usually live in cities, they're called "metrosexuals".

It's sort of a recent trend in the US, but Japanese guys have been doing it since I was a kid...

Re: grooming products

thanks, i didnt realize that stuff over there. but i dont think that this is anything special at all. its always been totally common and ordinary since i can remember. every guy is taking care of themselves and doing a style, sometimes change the style every season, or year, everyone that i known anyway. but even if you look around on the street and shopping center, everyone is doing that. but whats that idea connected to gay? do you mean 'guys' who arent really 'guys'? well like theres this one 'guy' at school whos actually not like a 'real guy' but more like a girl, you know what i mean, but she has bad style and out of fashion, even the girls dont totally accept him/her as one of them.

anyway, how else are you going to get a girlfriend if you look like a hairy caveman with body odor, no style, cheap clothes and ugly hairs sticking out of your nose...
like if you read all the magazine, or watch on the tv, or ask any the girls at school, girls say they really hate that because its disgusting and looks an uncle. all i know is when we go to the club with cool hair and styles, do some moves on the floor, we always get approached by girls. its a great result! you guys should try it

I used to use one, but I could never get as close a shave with those. Then I bought a 20 pack of Mach 3 cartridges, which will last me like 2 years. I'm not switching for a while.

My bro is so lazy he doesn't have to shave at all. How did he do that? He picked off his facial hairs one by one and they don't grow any more. Go, Allan! *mwah mwah*

Ha ha! My brother does too... Never understood why he did though... He only has to shave his chin & above his upper lip... I would think it would be easier just to take a quick razor to it. If I were a guy I would be happy not having much facial hair...

Yeah, but what happens if beards and mustaches come back in style? Then you'd feel pretty bad.

Naw... Then I would just say I was unique and call it a day...

Besides, I hope they never come back into style...
When I look at pics from the 70's... It just scares me... *shudder*

Re: grooming products

actually good point you remind me. i guess my grooming method is still kind of kireime despite that i listen now more reggae, dancehall and hiphop. its sometimes hard to stop a habit you did for years.

in reggae and hiphop, some facial hair like in a goatie are also popular, and i think looks cool with the right match of clothes. im thinking of doing an image change into hiphop style in april because its a new term and i want to fit into the reggae dancehall crowd at school more. but then the problem is to grow a goatie. how to grow more face hair?

True, all guys hate shaving.

But I'd love to have that 5 o'clock shade and look a little rough

Re: grooming products

^yeah, with all those opinions from every single women i know saying they liked smooth skin on men...i'm surprised the ultra-hairy gene (not just facial hair if you know what i'm saying...think "bear") hasn't been bred out of our population yet.
