Things that guys just won't understand
What are some of the things that goes on the head of a female that males just can't seem to grasp?
The floor is open to any comments. One of the things that I can take for granted as a male is that I can walk alone at night and not worry about getting raped. Thats a really scary thought. I never had to worry about getting raped before. |

![]() But there are a few things that I think men take for granted... For instance, I could work twice as hard as any man in my office but I won't get as much, if any recognition for all my efforts. And my pay raises are not as high as well as my bonuses and it's hard to be taken seriously if I suggest any changes that might be needed within the company... Others are of course the obvious double standards. Such as, men viewing women that have slept with a lot of men as sluts but a man can sleep with as many women as he wants and be viewed as nothing more than just being a guy. And I’ve talked to several guys who say that this is the way the view these women but wouldn’t consider changing their views, even though they themselves have slept with a large number of women. Oh I could go on and on but I’ll just leave it at that… hee hee ![]()

Re: Things that guys just won't understand
Quite frankly, I would agree most males do not understand the female's view towards the universe.
I agree with John0101. I can teach victimology and violent crime, but I can never explain what it is like to be victimized in a rape or domestic abuse. I can explain all day how the victims will have to go through another violation in the interview and evidance collection process, but I can never fully experience the horror. On the same token, just like Meki mentioned, I cannot explain how it is like to receive less pay for being a female. I can go all day explaining the power dynamics and hegemony of males and exploitations, but I can never fully comprehend what it is like. I only hope one day if I have a daughter I no longer have to explain that to her. I can experience discrimination through race, but not gender. That does not mean that I cannot stand against discrimination in any form though. On a less serious note, there are other stupid things. For instance, what's the deal with nail polish? Can someone please explain to me the logic of nail polish? Why put paint on nails?!??! |

Re: Things that guys just won't understand
In my econometrics class there are roughly about the same number of females and males in the class. I've been secretly totaling the number of males vs the number of females the teacher calls on. Today in class, he asked a total of 6 questions to the class and yet he only called on one female.
We're suppose to be doing an econometric project for the class and im hoping to do my project on discimination against females (if I can have the teacher's blessing) in the class. |

my brother was a sociology major and he had nowhere near the same insight as kpih. He'd always complain about racism and then go out and be a sexist jerk.
duh. it's all the same anyways. whites will never understand a blacks actual world, and while they may sympathize, they will never empathize. same with guys and girls.

unfortunately he's studying to become a lawyer. Then he'll never really care about ANYTHING (j/k to all the lawyers). I tend to be more pessimistic when it comes to race-race relations, etc. whites only care about asians in order to not get punished/take the societal moral high ground, men only sympathize with women to look sensitive and get laid...etc etc.... probably the wrong way to look at it...
