Cool Revolutionary Sports Training System

I've been developing a training system since 1978 that has evolved from my study of Martial Arts and my love of sports. This system called NINJAH SPORTZ, brings MA principles to Western Sports Science with revolutionary and evolutionary ideas that will change the way we percieve the body as it pertains to athletes and athletic training. We Asian-Americans have always participated in Western Sports but not until recently, participated in Pro Sports. With AA athletes in Pro football and Asians in Pro Basketball and Baseball, our visibility in "all-American" games will change the AA stereotype.
NINJAH SPORTZ is the first AA injection into Sports training. It also brings our "Asian-ness" to our "American-ness". Yes,"Martial Arts-ness" is a stereotype with AAs but let's not throw out the baby with the bath water. There is so much incredible knowledge about our bodies, movement, power, strength, speed and quickness that MA has developed over the centuries that apply directly to Athletic training. NINJAH SPORTZ has distilled those principles of self-defense and killing out and kept the physical concepts in. Just wanted to share the info with AA athletes first, to enhance our future in Sports and make our ride into American culture a little smoother. Of course, its only a small part of the experiment but when you realize the magnitude and scope of Sports infleuence on American culture, AA athletes can help lead the way. NINJAH SPORTZ is dedicated to making that kind of change in Sports training not only in America but the world.

Re: Revolutionary Sports Training System

Well, let's start with understanding that the human body is a four legged animal body that stood up and didn't come down. When you see that the shoulders and hips form a rectangle with the arms and legs structurally similar in joint, ligament and bone structure, we can see the back of an animal. When we look at our hands and feet, they both have 5 digits; the 3 middle fingers and toes are the animal paws with the little finger and thumb of the hand and the little and big toes on the feet are the animal's claws for motion. When we stood up in evolution, the palms became flat as did our feet.
In sports training, the lack of understanding of these simple principles contribute to the ever-growing trend of injury. For example, when you don't understand the "foot as animal pad" concept, wearing the latest Nikes or Reeboks suffice for playing sports. In England where you live, of course soccer is king. In the history of English soccer training , I would bet no one ever concieved that flatter feet would give you more balance, that moving from the inside of the foot using the big toe creates more power, that more explosive thrust could be achieved by retying the shoe in a ninjah manner.

Just a small bit of the NINJAH SPORTZ system. Hope it stirs your curiosity.

Wow... so all my adolescent years of imitating the Ninja Turtles was really a workout plan? Doh. If I had stuck to it, I'd probably be awesome, and eating Ninja Burgers.

Re: Revolutionary Sports Training System

Mahalos( Hawaiian for thanx) for the interest...first, to answer real and ultimate power... stereotypically in the West, muscle mass has been viewed as the basis of power. Bruce Lee at 5' something proved with the 1 inch punch that more force could be generated by a smaller man with superior knowledge of the body. In fact, any muscle bound athlete would never been able to achieve the same results. By the nature of the difference in training styles, the result would consistently remain the same. Although Bruce was ripped, his weight training was just enough to create a look and not enough to slow him down.... the weight pumping athlete's result is certainly force and strength, but one has to ask at what cost and to what end. Typically, weight training develops size, weight and a look.Because most weight training is linear in motion and practiced in a stationary position, one has to ask if any athlete ever plays his sport standing still and only in one linear motion. If not, then the amount of training does not benefit the athlete very much. In fact, the more the sport requires "chaotic" movement, the higher the risk of injury to ligaments, tendons and joints. Linear training translates best to linear tasks; bricklaying, lava rock wall lifting come to mind as most suited for certain weight training...Garbage men have to lift, leverage and move....Doing that has more of a overall positive result than weight training for most athletes....I cut celery for a couple of summers with Farmworkers in San Luis Obispo area of Calif. I witnessed small Mexican workers move, lift and throw a pile of 10 celery stalks to a waiting worker in a storage truck about 8' in height above the ground. Being the meathead USC Martial Artist that I was in those days, I arrogantly attempted the same move in different way. Afterall, I was a college man: younger, stronger and smarter so I thought. No way could I last the 11 hour days cutting and loading the celery in the ridiculous fashion I had devised. When I was in Thailand working, I saw an even smaller man working in a fish market lifting 3 sq. ft crates of fish. He was so ripped and muscular and could move. What did they have in common besides their size? They understood for endurance, they would have to work in harmony with gravity, use leverage instead of muscle mass and drive the force from the centering core of strength from the largest set of muscles in the body. The glutes are primarily connected to the strongest bone in the body, the thigh bone.It also is surrounding the strongest ligaments and tendons in the body. They also connect the upper and lower bodies. The greatest amount of leverage can be generated from the hips. With that leverage, greater force can be generated. Leverage over strength, knowledge over ignorance, heart over ego... game over...end of story....

To KimPossible..... the ninja history is full of the feminine principles of sensitivity, intuition, instinct and inherent intelligence..meathead men would do well to learn from women... Ninja styles actually suit women better than most men for those reasons. Its usually when women forget their inherent superiority and act like men that they are most vulnerable and weak.... I just worked w/ Michelle Yeoh and Zhang Zi and have never felt more intense focus and power from any man I've worked with. One only needs to watch "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" to understand that one should never underestimate your opponent because of size or sex.

How long would I have to study before I would be able to fly? Can I specialize in demon hunting? Preferably, in a school uniform.

Re: Revolutionary Sports Training System

Aloha,Pikachupacabra......it seems power is on alot of peoples' minds these days probably because of the climate in the world of powerlessness and imminent danger. Power in terms of NINJAH SPORTZ has alot of applications physically, mentally, spiritually and emotionally because of its connection to MA. I will address the physical aspect and if you need more info, feel free to e-mail me for an in depth and personal answer.
To learn about physical power is to empower oneself. By knowing your body, you engage in one of the most intimate relationships one can have on this planet. When we understand that gravity is the single most powerful force on the planet, then perhaps its easier to understand that a relationship with gravity is the second most intimate. Its' importance is highlighted by the fact that the earth is spinning at about 17,000 mph. Gravity is that force that keeps us from being thrown off the planet. Thus, centrifugal force becomes the source for the third most important relationship we'll ever have physically. Body, gravity and centrifugal relationships rule our physical experience. How we feel about our bodies, how we see our bodies, how we know our bodies....the basis of the first step to knowing power on this plane.

Flying like Michael Jordan flying or Power Puff girls? The Michael Jordan kind I can help you, the other...sorry. The Michael Jordan type comes from having certain abilities that he was blessed to be born with and can be developed in those who were not. You have to remember that ballet dancers train for hang time in dancing by hours of intense stretching. Not the typical runners' 2 min. routine or the half hearted sports team stretch warm-up...I'm talking serious stretch and joint rotation routines...on the other end of the spectrum, sumo wrestlers spend an inordinate amount of time stretching. Of course, they work to keep their feet on the ground and fly only when they are tossed out of the ring. But the goal is the same....Access the ligaments, tendons and joints to give more leverage....whether to fly or simply move 400 lbs. with major power, coordination and grace. Maybe you could use some...

Well, Fireblade... just eating burgers won't get you awesome....would probably take more focus, singular attention and purpose. NINJAH SPORTZ can help you there... do you find your attention span is miniscule? Do you find your creativity levels highly unstimulated? Find that your mind races faster than you handle? If the answer is yes to one or more of the questions, you could benefit from deep, slow breathing... it helps to give the body what it craves. Guess how many cells in the body? The rough estimate is 10,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 cells in the body. Each cell needs nourishment, elimination of metabolic waste and replenishment. Deep breathing could help you feel more creative, fulfilled and self-generating. Guaranteed... you can thank me later.....

What are the odds of their being EXACTLY 10,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 cells in the body? I mean, is it give or take a million? A billion? What about short and tall people? Or Don Knots and Rosie O'Donnell? What's the difference between 10,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 and 100,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000? Does bad dandruff influence your cell count? What about radio-active mutants? Does radio-active have a hyphen, or should it be radioactive? What is Andy Griffith doing these days? These questions need to be answered!

Re: Revolutionary Sports Training System

I'm not interested in flying so much as I am interested in learning how to use throwing stars with crazy-insane accuracy. I wouldn't mind learning how to climb walls, but that's totally secondary in my mind.

Re: Revolutionary Sports Training System

Good point, Braddah... the answer was simply to point out that there is a miracle going on in the body that we don't know about and for those interested in sports training, the point bout the cells answers alot of endurance, clarity and performance questions. Its all relative to interest and interested people. It relates to a new system of Asian-American infleuence on Sports which is the most important point. Some are interested, some not. Some respond because they're interested, some because they're not and have nothing better to do than to miss the point. Asian-American consciousness.....that's the point of this place,Brah.... get it? got it? good....

Throwing stars are illegal in most states and for good reason. Most dangerous MA weapons are best used these days by serious MA sometimes for personal training and others for competition. Then again, studying weapons is not the most important aspect, I believe, for studying MA today. Weapons, fighting,"kicking ass" is certainly a stereotype of MA and Martial Artists not unlike stereotypes of Asians and AAs. Usually stereotypes and stereotypic perceptions say more about racists and their ignorance than any truth about others. Identity is the single most critical problem facing AAs today and it is the same for all Americans including racists. Whenever a race finds it necessary to dump on another to feel superior, what does that say for their sense of superiority? And what are the criteria? Intelligence, physical prowess, size of weapons, ability to kill people, sexuality......Alot of American stereotyping is about making fun of something that they don't have a clue about....taking it one step further in the American paradigm, it seems to be reason we are not embraced in the world. Our ignorance kills us....but then one has to ask what are we fighting for in identity as AAs when we say "we want to seen as American" Which part of America? The racist part? The Ignorant? The Ego part? Or the other parts? The other parts that most Americans lost long ago...Independent thinking, free thinking and respect for others free thinking.... creative, expressive,compassionate...... we used to always stand for the underdog....we used to try to protect the helpless...lately we seem to make people helpless.....Which part do we aspire for in being American? When we begin to answer some of those questions, our identity as AAs will become cleared. NINJAH SPORTZ is my answer to my AA questions and not some frivolous, hyped up American bullshit business attempt...take yourselves seriously, Yellow Nation and stop trying follow some empty, wanna' be excuse for a culture. The best of what is American is rebellious, creative and not the smart ass, ignorant,"never have a clue, so let me rail on" attitude. Attitude used to mean perspective not some hyped front for insecurity and ignorance. Let the American static in your brain take a break. You may find other energy in there that comes from a beautiful, beautiful space....its the
Asian part y'all....its the only thing that has helped us succeed so far.... its why we're not out there in heavily negative vibe in America...draw on it and include the best in America and we will have a fighting chance. Dare to go into those places where we haven't been seen like sports. We know how American, sports is. We participate so why don't we excel enough to make it to Pro Sports... Maybe part of it is because we simply follow the same old training systems that benefit certain types of bodies. Superior knowledge, superior application, superior athletes and attitudes....NINJAH SPORTZ...that's what I'm talking 'bout!!!!
