heart disease
if my mom's father died of heart disease, do i have a higher chance to get one also?

does your mom have high blood pressure, high cholesterol, high triglyceride or heart problems etc etc etc?
it's not much to go by to get an accurate family history just going by your grandfather. but, if you really want an educated guess on my part and take this with a grain of salt, i would be so inclined to say that your chances are slightly higher than someone without any family history of heart disease. and mind you, i'm just going by that your grandfather died of heart disease and you're a male - i'm assuming you're a dude. it is something i would ask and note if i were to take a family history on a patient. it's nothing to worry about, if you have checkups with your physician regularly and he/she knows that your grandfather died from heart disease.
