Re: Knitting

I've already fucked up the scarf twice. Well, three times, but one of the mistakes is invisible to the naked eye. So now I have weird snakey cables here and there on the scarf :(

What, Meena, you couldn't stop laughing while taking measurements for the thong?

Re: Knitting

oh crap.

what the hell. i posted a reply to this like two hours
ago and it's gone.
anyway. i'm so so sorry janet but the needles are still
in my room. i promise promise pinkie swear to send
them out this week.
everytime i see the box i'd be guilt ridden but i guess
not guilty enough.

i wanted to share my first recycled sweater-yarn story.
it's a lot more work than i assumed.
so i won't do it again unless it's a sweater that's
coming apart and is not wearable or donate-able (??)
or if it's a yarn that i really really love.
or a sweater from expensive yarn like cashmere that i
can get at thrift stores for like 5 bucks.

and preferably done outside where there's lots
of ventilation. because that thing was messy.
there was yarn fuzz all over my room.
and i couldn't stop sneezing.

so yeah i think it's worth it. just because
the sweater i frogged would've have ended
up in a landfill just taking up space.

Re: Knitting

God, I knit everyday. At lunch and while I watch TV. Then I get together with not one but TWO knitting groups every week. I'm so busy knitting I can't blog. Or even take pictures of the knitting to post on the blog when I actually half-assedly update. I have six projects going on. I have a stash that is getting out of control. I've been buying knitting books.

I went to a sheep and wool festival. And liked it.

I'm sick. Send help.

Dang, contragulations Meena! This is another reason for me to visit you, so you can teach me continental! We will be smooooove continental ladies.

When I taught myself fair isle, I just held both strands in one hand, because my left hand is completely retarded.

thaaaaaaaaaank you.
i know. i've been trying since last winter.
iit was just soooooo hard.
but i'm doing a basic basketweave scarf
now, just knitting and purling.
and i thought. hell. why don't i practice
while knitting this thing.

my hands get sweaty and sometimes the yarn
doesn't move as smoothly as i wish. but overall,
i have fun with this method.
might be because it's something new.
