Hotmail mailbox size increase?

i logged on to my Hotmail today and all of a sudden noticed that i've been allocated 250 MBs. how the hell did i go from 2MBs to 250MBs? i hope MSN didn't get a hold of my credit card number somehow and is charging me for it. is this happening to anybody else out there?



(yes, i know a lot of people think Hotmail sucks, but i actually don't mind it. and it's got pretty good junk mail filtering now.)

I noticed that also. I logged on and it said I was only using 1% of allocated space when the other day it said I was up to 65%. i thought at 1st that they had deleted some of my old e-mails.

They've been planning a inbox increase for a long time now, i think it's to compete with yahoo or something.

and they're rolling out the bump in space in phases; i've had 250 MB for a few months now. still, i'm stuck with the old habit of checking everyday, promptly removing spam.

Wow! How can I get free increase in space? I have to have multiple hotmail accounts so I can allocate the emails I get from my main account to one of my subaccounts to save space. It's a big hassle. I could really use the extra space.

It's 'cause of GMail. Both Yahoo and Hotmail had to bump up their storage in preparation for the competition supplying 1 GB free of charge, with only text ads. However, if you signed up for a new account at Hotmail today, you'd only get 2 MB. Whereas Yahoo gives you the 100 MB without making you wait

i just got my starage increase for hotmail today or yesterday, too. and yeah, they've been doing it in phases. some of my friends got theirs bumped up a month or so ago.

i still hate hotmail, though.

250 MB's for when your sister sends you the pics of the nephews and nieces.

tho 2 MB is fine for text only, the most secure way to go.
