Re: Iraqi army recruits massacred

Were the Iraqi army recruits properly escorted back to their home by the United States/British Military ?

Seems to me that the Functional Parents (U.S. and/or British Army) did not protect their Functional Children (Iraqi recruits). I could be incorrect.

Why did they send them off without firearms, backup, protection via the U.S./British Military ?

Re: Iraqi army recruits massacred

Hold on...maybe it was a "mass suicide"; Jonestown with guns instead of koolaid?

BTW, anybody seen the Hale Bop comet?

Re: Iraqi army recruits massacred

That's some fucked up shit. Considering that these trainees are the people that are eventually supposed to allow the U.S. to withdraw troops in the area, the U.S. needs to be doing a better job protecting them.

Re: Iraqi army recruits massacred

The US really needs to hunt down Abu Musab al-Zarqawi. Surely he can't be too hard to find.

Do you think such a person actually exists?

I noticed the more it became clear that WMDs would not be found, the more this "Abu Musab al willie horton" character started to be floated.

In addition this "Zarkari boogieman" also serves as the vital link connecting Iraq to Al quesa.

The current administration is rapidly running out of valid reasons for roaming the deserts of Iraq; but luckily for them the general public is generally stupid and Im sure they could dress Kareem Abdul Jabar up in some Arab "garb", slap some phoney name on him and make him the new boogieman.

Because for the average American, "they all look alike to me".

Totally. But the reprecussions of this U.S. mistake go way beyond the sad loss of these soldiers' lives. Now the U.S. will have a lot more difficult of a time recruiting Iraqis to become soldiers. Unless poverty gets so out of hand that people prefer the dangers of collaborating to starvation.

I read it somewhere that the unemployment figure is about 90% for all Iraqis [especially the restless young men].

And we wonder why there's an insurgency problem.....

Yah, this is highly suspect. Though the ruthlessness can't be denied, this should not have happened. There is no concrete system in Iraq, and the enforcers of the system are on the bus unarmed.

Yes, the militia men should be condemned, but it almost should be expected. "Insurgents" have been car-bombing and ambushing iraqi reservists, national guardsmen, and police on a daily basis, with devestating efficiency. It has been established Iraqi "insurgents" have the intelligence. Send them home with escorts or allow them their arms.

At best this was extreme-negligence.

Man, I think he exists but I would question the Bush Administration and the US media's tactics over his supposed role in the insurgency.
