my favorite were probably def leppard, bon jovi, and guns 'n roses. def leppard was just the shit what with their one-armed drummer and songs like "pour some sugar" on me. and i used to sing bon jovi's "bad medicine" while i was sitting on the toilet. although guns 'n roses really only had two albums out, appetite and lies, before the 90s came around. and then they had their two illusions albums, which i thought weren't all that great, or at least overrated. never got into motley crew as much as pretty much all my other friends though.

i got all the guns and roses cd's... except for the Spaghetti Incident... but anyways, when it comes to their Illusion Cd's... I LOVE their ballad songs on them... and when your feeling really depressed... I can really get into their Coma song. And i just feel you just gotta be in a certain mood to really like more of their heavy metal stuff... Personally speaking, i really like their 2 illusion cd's....

But anyways, Duran Duran was an 80's rock band i use to be really into.... and i use to be really into Boy George and the Culture Club... I even dressed like him one time for halloween....

And oh yeah, I liked Madonna when she first started out... and i still like her now...

I liked mostly r&b or new wave/punk. Though I have mixed myself a couple of 80s CDs. One of my favorite 80s songs is "She Blinded Me With Science" It makes me happy when I listen to it.

Jeezis, I just admitted I listened 80s r&b. Most of the songs I liked are now found on cheapass compilations like "Songs to Strip to I & II" or "Lowrider" CDs. I picked up those CDs to laugh at them and then gulped because I had owned most of the songs on them.

Hated Bon Jovi. And not just because they're from Jersey. (I'm just teasing you tapestrybabe) I do still like a couple of Guns 'n Roses songs. The one where he used to love, but he had to kill her and now she's six feet under. And Mr. Brownstone.

My sister was the metalhead of the two of us. She still can do a killer Axl Rose dance.

yeah but that's not really hair bands. i'm talking about the rock videos with the blond chicks dancing around on stage, and the hair that needed two cans of hairspray to forment, and the bad music (well, i still like appetite and lies from g 'n r).

on the subject of 80's rock i'd kinda mention a techno/rock band -- 'a flock of seagulls' i think they were quite famous in the 80's. even were mentioned in the second austin powers movie.
hahha yeah flock of seagulls. i think they were only famous in the early 80s though, correct me if i'm wrong. they were like one of those bands that had they made it to the 90s, would have been categorized as "alternative", like U2 and Duran Duran.
