Need help on a project idea.

I'm in a creative fabrication mood.

I need some ideas on something to build within a budget. I will be willing to post an in depth How-To on my project.

Please start throwing ideas out. Extra points for implements of destruction. I'll research the good ideas and determine whether it is within my budget. And then I'll get to work!

Things that cannot be built are:

PVC Flamethrower (as awesome as this truly is, it has already been done and I want to be the first one to create something)
Potato Launcher

Points go out to those that can come up with a truly original and wicked idea that I can actually fabricate. Who knows, maybe I'll even send it to you in gratitude.

Can't do it! We bought a townhome, so we've got to comply with the CC&R's. Besides, I've got no backyard, and a deck right outside my garage, while it would be awesome, would piss my neighbors off. =(

C'mon Bunz, implements of destruction!

Re: Need help on a project idea.

Hey congrats on your new townhouse. Where did you end up buying it?

How about a water balloon launcher made with surgical tubing?

Another vote for the wet bar with taps.

Re: Need help on a project idea.

A wet bar with keg taps is an awesome idea. But it requires an enclosed and insulated compartment to be refrigerated, therefore presenting the best possible location to be in the kitchen. Shirley would kill me if I tore the kitchen up.

hmm, well, you should still consider some of the classic weapons, such as
- trebuchet
- swords... as in actually learning the fine art of swordmaking. hell, if you can make a quality foil, i might just buy it
- those old-style cannons; maybe make a replica of the imperial chinese ones?

but, as for newer ones that less people attempt:
- high-powered laser - from what i've heard, these aren't too hard to make; the downside is some components that you definitely have to buy, and they don't come cheap. plus, the inverse relationship of charge time and electric bill costs, which leads me to the...
- railgun - electrically-powered kinetic energy-goodness. easier on the wallet.

less creative, but still cool idea:
- go-kart - fine, if you don't think this is fun enough, build it, and then mount a potato cannon/flamethrower/laser/railgun on top of it; rig a camera on it as a sight; mount a monitor in the cockpit; and a remote firing mechanism. if you're afraid of getting killed (wuss) make it radio controlled and hook a wireless transmitter to the cam.

ph34r with gr34t ph34r!!!

This is what I'm talking about. Negative, however, on the classic medieval implements. I like the railgun project. I will have to do a lot of research to see how to fabricate this. I imagine this would need a considerable amount of electric power to run, but would otherwise only need a small-bore non-magnetic barrel, and a series of high-powered electro magnets setup in sequence. How would I make this portable? How would I be able to produce enough magnetic force? Karma for you!

Give me a while to see if this can even be done!
