Un-manly colors

Do you own anything of a particular color that would be deemed as not masculine, like a pink shirt or powder blue shoes or a chartruse car or whatever? I remember my aunt got me a neon pink shirt for christmas one year, and I was like , not only for it being pink, but because I didn't like anything she ever got me anyway. True, you should be secure enough in yourself to not be concerned with color, but does the color of an item have any bearing with you?

Pink

*ahem*

Salmon. It looks great on some guys.

I demand it be taken off of the un-manly colors list.

Re: Un-manly colors

No. Actually, I don't have many clothing colour choices. All my stuff is either white, black, grey, khaki, blue or brown. I do have a red rugby shirt, but that's about it. Pretty boring.

Re: Un-manly colors

This is the QueerEye 2000's; no color is taboo anymore.

Salmon in stripes is nice.

Now, how about some un-manly patterns? Paisley? Polka-dots? Pinstripes?

Re: Un-manly colors

if anything is in style it's manly, if its out of style then its not. I tend to stick to the basic colors too, black, lots of blue, grey, brown, off color whites.

Re: Un-manly colors

I don't tend to wear a lot of colours anyway not because it's unmanly to do so but because I can't colour coordinate if my life depended on it.

Re: Un-manly colors

I have a lot of powder blue shirts and sweaters...I really like that color. It comes across as a bit...feminine...to me, but, I still wear'em cause I like them.

It should be a white rugby shirt, along with a red rose to it.

I got a light sky blue fleece top from GAP that my auntie got me and I actually like wearing it. I use to have a very faint pink shirt that I wore - it's all about colour co-ordination. There was a guy at the office who had a pink shirt with light silver tie. Looked sharp but it didn't really suit him to the tee...

Re: Un-manly colors

well, royal purple is okay, but regular...i can tell the difference, and i don't like it. four colors exist in my closet: black, blue, khaki, and white. there's a red shirt in there somewhere, but that's gonna get tossed out as soon as i find it. i *think* there's a green longsleeve in there too. all my formal shirts are someplace else so they don't count.

Once you say salmon instead of pink, it just opens the floodgates to acceptance huh ?

but whatever. I think this is a time period sort of deal. back in the 80's hot pink was the shizzznit.

powder puff blue is WAY in right now.

now if you're talking about pastel lavendar......that's another thing altogether.

Colors I have in my closet (actually I don't even have closet, I just have a freaking rack hanging from my ceiling):

light blue
powder puff blue
burgundy
red
dark blue
white
green
khaki
olive
tan
light brown
only purple i have is on my Laker's jersey. GO LAKERS!
grey
black

ALL of the above are MANLY colors!

So uh... anybody remember cross colours?
