I remember checking out the original '70's version, which was more or less a satire focusing on women's lib during that time, but I don't know how this remake would play out for today's audience.

i thought the first one was interesting. although slightly disturbing to me, it provoked thought, which was of course the point. anyway, i cant watch the stream right now for some reason -- it doesnt seem to want to pull up. ill get back to this.

So i was watching the commercial for the Godawful looking Stepford Wives and there was a short shot in the den where the husbands are yucking it up playing cards and stuff and was one of em asian? i spose its a double edged sword cuz yeah, asian rep blah blah but then again this is a movie about u know, domineering men and their submissive wives

I think the movie is about the American dream which usually involves white anglo saxon families with perfect lives. Notice how perfect and blonde how all the ideal wives are (atleast from what I've seen in the previews).
