depends on the person.

somebody i really really care about and do NOT want to lose: distance makes the heart grow fonder. you need to spend a little time apart to realize how much you need each other. how can you miss someone when they wont go away?

somebody i just like to have fun with, but dont like... NEEEED to be with: out of sight out of mind. :) ...but that doesn't mean i cheat on guys or do deceitful things when they're gone... that just means that i dont spend every minute of every day missing them and wishing they were back. that just means that when they're gone, i'll go do my thing, but i'll behave as best as i can.

for me its out of sight, out of mind. the up side is that it comes in handy when i want to cut ties with guys that i no longer want to be around. if i dodge em for a while then my attraction for them fades and pretty soon its gone. the down side is if im away from my guy from too long then i lose interest. i get distracted by those around me too easily.

of course this has also led to some issues with old flames. i wont see em for a while and then theyll slip my mind..then ill see em at some group function and BAM im sprung again. its more of a superficial infatuation thing than actually wanting to be in a relationship again.

Here's what i think:

1) out of sight helps to some degree, but not much
2) time and distance will also help, but again, not much.

I don't even know what helps.

I've kept busy with work and my hobby, I've been chillin with friends + family, I've tried actively not to think about her.....but I still feel so shattered.
