Re: Athens not ready for the olympics?

No seriously. I heard a few years back that if Greece can't get its shit together then there were 3 other fallback places where they could do it, based on infrastructure and readiness, LA, Seoul, and Amsterdam.

Re: Athens not ready for the olympics?

that would be really embarrassing for the greeks if they are not ready on time.

one thing concerns me most is however the issue on security, i'm not sure if they have the experience or resources to ensure the safety of the public and the visitors.

when was the last time they held the olympics???

No not even. History reflects that alone.

Let's hope Athens gets ready.

i heard that their airport is one of the least secure in the world. i sure hope that becomes the opposite when the olympics rolls around.

The time of aristotle and socrates?

Greece, for all it's ancient glory, has basically become the third world country of europe.

I never mocked them, all i am saying is that, despite it's glorious ANCIENT civilization, it's now basically a third world country.

The same can be said of other great civlizations of the past.....

and don't worry, all civilizations rises/fall/being replaced by some other civilization, and it goes to the same cycles again.

It's just how history works

Hehheh, that would be poetic justice. I'm sure Greece is a nice country, and they've given a lot to the world, but these days I'm more inclined to side with the Turks on most matters. I'm a bit biased, though, I admit.

Add Uzbekastan and most of the other Soviet states to that list. Those are pretty fucked up too.

It would be interesting to see what happens if they can't get together time however.
