Girls who don't have many girlfriends

When it comes to girls that you date and/or have relationships with, I tend to look at whether they have a lot of girlfriends or not. If they do, it's a really good sign. If they don't that's usually a red flag.

Why you ask? Because to me when a girl has a lot of friends in general, it tells me that she is socially well-adjusted and that she is capable of sustained relationships. It also tells me that she has a life. I'm a firm believer that you have to have "your own life" before you get into a serious relationship with someone. Your own freinds, hobbies, work/school life, interests, and passions. And as well, having too many guy friends (and no girlfriends) is not a good sign, because I think that is too easy. A girl who has strong relationships with other females tells me that she works hard at keeping them. Guys often have alterior motives and with girls, it's clear that they are in a friendship with another girl simply for friendship's sake. No possibility for anything more like with guys.

My last ex didn't have many girlfriends. Actually, not many friends in general. I kinda felt it was doomed from the start, but we gave it a try. Recently, I found a girl that has lots of girlsfriends. She is so well-adjusted. And she is very giving and kind. And I just realize more that these things are that much more important.

Any thoughts?

i know what yer sayin though. i knew girls in college who were catty, sneaky little things. low n behold, they didn't have many girl friends, or their lives revolved around the bf. (just what i've seen, not to say that i think all girls in this sitch behave like that, obviously.)

Some of the hot girls I know have very few female friends cause they all hate on her, either that or it's just b/c guys all flock to her so the amount of guy friends she has greatly outnumbers her girl ones.

i look to see if she has a lot of male friends.

a lot of female friends just means estrogen overload and a huge a annoyance factor later one for me if we start dating.

i prefer that they have more male friends than female friends.

i can see that happening. hmmm... but i do know some hot girls with a good group of solid girlfriends.

i guess i prefer the social butterfly with lots of gfriends vs. none at all.

and when your life revolves around your sig other... bad, bad, bad... at least until you are married IMO.

My mother doesn't have any female friends at all. Some women just don't get along with other women (they're a guy's girl) or don't like to hang with other females. My GF only has one other female frind who I can't stand.

out of my closest friends, 1 is female and the rest are guys. these male friends do not have "ulterior motives", we think of each other as siblings. it's not because i don't know how to relate to other females, or that i want a lot of guys around me who will oogle (for lack of a better word) me. it's because males greatly outnumber females in my own world (face it, there arent many female DJs ). i guess it all depends on your environment and what type of people comprise your "scene".

my ex totally resented the fact that most of my friends were guys. to me, that shows a lack of security in one's self and the relationship you're in. i feel that if he was secure w/ himself and our relationship, my plutonic relationships w/ other people shouldn't have mattered that much.

I personally prefer the company of guy friends than girl friends. I find girl friends to be generally too into the drama, and cattiness, of staying friends, while guys are just on the whole more chill.

I don't feel socially maladjusted...

but whys it gotta be one or the other? as in, having lots of girl friends doesn't necessarily mean less guy friends. just in pure numbers, i think i have more guy friends than girl friends. guys are generally less complicated individuals. and they don't *usually* get grossed out if i burp around them.

What about guys that have a lot of girlfriends, though? Many a time there have been girls that went insane over the fact that their current bf had a slew of female acquaintances and weren't too happy with it. Are they insecure as well?

good point. i think it doesn't have to be one or the other. but IMO having at least a few solid GFs is a good sign (no matter how many guy friends you have).
