Horror of horrors

Man, going through the entire staff database is somewhat tedious here at work, so I'm just gonna casually bring up the discussion of horror movies that have always scared the hell out of you, regardless of how old you've gotten. The Exorcist is the one that gets me anytime I see it, and the director's cut that I saw a couple halloweens ago in the theatre didn't make it any better. That scene of her coming down the stairs backwards....man, I did not wanna go to sleep that night, swear to God.

Re: Horror of horrors

this isn't the scariest movie ever (the ring had me freaked out for all 7 days after watching it), but for a month and a half after watching the eye, i couldn't go into an elevator without getting chills.

The REALLY freaky thing, was that there were a lot of people doing research, on how ghosts looked like, to those who have "spirit sight". So what you saw in the movie, is visually accurate, according to the people who clain to see ghosts.
Now that's messed. Take it from a guy who used to have spirit sight.

You get scared? I never learned to be scared, until after I lost my spirit sight, because I thought it was normal; and that was long after I lost it.
It went away, when I was around 8 years old. I just slowly grew out of it, I guess. Everyone's born with it, but the "spirit eye" closes, by the time we're old enough to speak.

Anyway, I guess you can try to find people who can "close" your "spirit eye". There are supposed to be Asian priests who can do it. I've never tried. There are supposed to be some in Toronto. That's all I know about that.

Advice: don't hang any wind-chimes, around the house.

There I go, scaring people with my life stories, again. I should stop being so honest.

I'm sure it has something to do with ghosts. Call it intuition, but I think wind chimes and the dead don't mix.

Is it called yin yang yen? I think I read about this.

TB: I saw the director's cut of The Exorcist on Halloween too, when it first came out.

Ur... dude... wind-chimes draw in ghosts. Actually, if your wind-chime is facing North-West, you're most likely to have supernatural encounters.

It's time to take that thing off, buddy.

I remember at the old house where I lived, our neighbors had a wind-chime facing that direction. I also knew that the park behind us was pretty heavy with "that stuff" (I've got stories). Anyway, the wind-chime that they had, would be making noises, even when there wasn't any wind. I always kept the blinds down at night, considering that my room faced the back yard and our neighbors. I didn't want to see anything weird, nor do I want anything to see me.

Re: Horror of horrors

Yeah, probably Poltergeist, the first one. I didn't find the Exorcist scary at all, for some reason, maybe because I saw it for the first time when I was 19.

28 Days Later left me with my heart-pumping and hiding in my seat for most of the movie, too. i love that one. but i guess it's not a "horror" movie.
