From that one geeky fanboy site that I frequent they say it's like a starship troopers type thing. A bunch of eager young kids itching to go to war, and they get slaughtered quickly and brutally during their fights.

I saw a trailer for Brad Pitt's new movie about Troy. It's meant to be impressive: It starts off with Brad Pitt raising his sword, as if to signal "charge." Then the camera pans out and he's on a ship amidst a huge fleet that fills the sea. But since they are nowhere near land and hence the enemy, I can't figure out why Brad Pitt raises his sword. It's details like that that make me think that this movie is going to be like USA's or TNT's (I can't remember which one) failed attempt at a Troy movie. At least the TV movie's Agammemnon was so over the top that it made the whole movie worth watching.

Orlando is in it.... I wish brad would get outta the way on the poster and make more room for Orlando.

Seriously, the boat scene is amazing. It is seriously awesome... I really really really wanna see this movie 'cuz of that one scene.

The Kill Bill Vol. 2 trailer is now online, and it's a little more reserved than the trailer for Vol. 1, which had a few nice moments, but I wasn't too fond of.

I think that scene is impressive too. I just think the sword raising was a little silly. That said, I'm definitely going to see it.

So far, the movie seems to be the perfect date movie. Battles for the guys, eye candy for the ladies. But the most important question of all: who's playing Helen? The woman in the TV movie did not have a face that could launch a thousand ships. On the other hand, that scholarly journal People Magazine a number of years ago said that if there really was a Helen of Troy, she would have been so ugly by today's standards that three nearsighted fishermen probably wouldn't bother hoping in a rowboat for her.
