Hello from Thailand
I am making this post quick, I am posting from an internet cafe in Bangkok.
The place is definitely an experience, its kinda like a developing Chinatown in NYC. Alot of white people here! LOL the food here is fucking awesome and not to mention cheap. If you want an exotic experience and see South East Asia, I'd recommend Thailand. The people here are pretty friendly but seldom speak english (so I have to use hand gestures alot of the time). I'll post pics when I get back to the US at the end of Jan. I'll keep you guys updated. Off to Chang Mai I go for some jungle trekking. |

Cipherous,
If you get the chance check out the giant golden Buddha and temple. Also there's a kick ass snake show (I forget where) around town somewhere. |

Re: Hello from Thailand
Again from Bangkok, I'll probably head up to Chang mai in like 2 days. Need to sort out some stuff first.
I went out to see what the Night life is like and not surprisingly, there were prostitutes everywhere. You often will see 20 year old Thai girls with like middle aged White guys...kinda sad to see these girls selling their bodies like the way they do. But keep in mind that many of these girls are in extreme poverty and they do anything to get by. I looked around the back alleys and tried to get a glimpse of what real Thai life is like (aside from the perspective of a tourist). You can see that these people work extremely hard and get by. Albiet, Thailand is growing at a very rapid pace, there is still alot to be done here (just as anywhere else). |

Re: Hello from Thailand
Hello from Chaing Mai,
beautiful city and the weather is nice and cool. Although its Thailand's 2nd biggest city, Chaing mai is very quite. You seldom see any cars at night, especially after 10. Thailand's main industry is tourism and its evident. It seems that almost everything here is aimed at tourism. From the western style night clubs to the starbucks, alot of businesses are geared towards tourists. I've seen all types of people here. I see Japanese, Chinese, Indians, middle eastern, whites (that speak fluent thai). thats all for now, will post pics when I get back. This place is beautiful, I am definitely gonna to miss it. |
