Lived in the SF East Bay most of my life. I know most of Contra Costa, SF, and the South Bay (lived down there for a few years). Don't think I can stand LA for more than 5 years. I'm eventually gonna leave it.

One of my friends who just came from a business trip in Japan said that if I lived there I would never leave it. So I'd like to give Japan a few years to see how it is. I'd like to be in the more rural areas though. I don't like the city much.

I eventually want to retire in Vancouver. I have relatives and friends up there in Richmond. Love the place. Other than that, I'm putting good money I'll be living in the South Bay once again. Not San Jose, probably the surrounding areas. Planning on working in Foothill College or some community college.

One things for sure, I want to live near the ocean.

Reconstruction. There's going to be an even larger mall. I think they're finished with construction. It was almost complete when I left Canada. Tell your Mum Aberdeen Mall has expanded three fold.

Living in the core can be prohibitively expensive. You can expect to pay...oh...I don't know...$1000CDN+ a month for city real estate? The best way to love Vancouver and not go broke is to either live in the city outskirts (not as good) or move to one of the neighbouring cities like Richmond and Burnaby. You'll want to stay away from New Westminster, Surrey and Coquitlam, however. The scenary isn't as nice. I live in Richmond and it's about a five minute drive to downtown Vancouver and my home city is very nice, very clean, and has a very large Chinese population.

I already like where I currently live - virtually zero crime, safe, nice, quiet, and for the most part, friendly people.

But it does suffer from one major defect: BOREDOM - pretty much nothing to do around here.

I would choose San Francisco, if it weren't for the fact that I'd have a very hard time finding a good place to live in town, but then again, I'm not the in-your-face type anyway.

Hehe, do you watch "The OC"? I wonder what parts of OC seanp is referring to. I don't think the majority of OC is lilywhite , but I could be wrong. Generally depends on if it's a beachtown/coastal or inland, imo. OC's got cities with lots of Asians (Vietnamese, primarily, I think?), and a large Latin population. For instance, I'm going to the LA area tomorrow, gonna stay with my friend in Fullerton part of the time, which is OC, but not one of the rich primarily-white beachtowns of OC. It's mostly Latin and Asian, from what I've observed in the past.

Ooh, if I'm gonna live in a beachtown, it's gonna be Manhattan Beach, where all the pro beach vball goes down.

Somehow photographers seem to do a good job of keeping people out of pictures. I don't know how or why they do it.

four places for me:

1. taipei, taiwan - gotta get back to my roots.
2. queens, new york - the same reason above.
3. san fran, california - love the town.
4. chicago, illinois - family out there live in a different city.

Lol, I used to hang around that area. There's a good size Asian population last I checked. Ah, the good ol' DVC days. How I miss them.
