hello everyone! found this site when it was brought to the attention of some people on another site i frequent that we were getting hated on. hahaha! thought i'd check it out. anyhow, here's a copy and a paste from another "introductory" thread i've done before..

yes! 5 generations, and my brother has a 3-year old daughter (she's 1/4 japanese, 1/4 white, and 1/2 mexican) and that would make her 6th generation! we've been here for quite some time. i laugh because i look extremely asian for only being half and my hapa friends are more "asian" than me in culture, while more caucasian looking in appearance. haha! it's a running joke!

but yes, my mother can't speak a word of japanese and has only dated non-asian guys. it's a preference of hers as when she was growing up the asian guys she knew were quite traditional asian male.. if that makes sense. she sensed the cultural differences right away and stayed cleared of that in relationships.

i think my family proves the "5 generations to fully adapt to the current culture of residency".. the only japanese thing about us is that we eat japanese dishes and snacks.. and lord knows that's not exclusive to people of asian descent.
