Why mixing drinks is bad for me

At the Christmas party at the ex's ba, I got piss drunk mixing cola and Jagermeister shooters for myself after going lightly with the cheap saké for an hour.

The highlight of the evening consisted of me picking up Boots, the ginger kitten of the recent batch of kittens by my ex's daughter's cat, and wandering into the bathroom to do the following (most of which I'd forgotten the day after, at least until now):

puking on the toilet seat.
puking in the bathroom sink.
placing Boots on top of the puke in the sink.
being assessed and sent to bed by the ex-GF.
cleaning up my mess on the toilet seat the next morning.
being sent home, officially dumped (this is a long story).
deciding to walk home, as there was no point in taking the bus in that condition.
puking in the street behind the mall near the elementary school.
no recollection of what i did in the bathroom to this day - definitely signs of a disassociative state AKA a blackout.

by the time i got home after a 2.5 mile walk, i was completely sober, still not having remembered how bad the night before was.

well, my ex made me feel as though I was Attila the hun for this "traumatic experience" for the kitten, who was meowing loudly at me the night after.

when i came back a week later to drop off more XMas presents, the kitten had forgotten about me.

but since the new year, i only visit the ex's daughter's family, cos by then they were all over it and didn't give it a second thought.

and now and then i get depressed over her and cry.

am i still in love with her?

in drinking news, i am a light drunk, almost a teetotaler. i don't drink that often, and now closely observe my behavior when i do drink.

This is all great stuff, but you should post it in a blog so we can find everything in one easy place!

I used to drink Budweiser or Coor's light and chase it down with shots of whiskey. Had my fun with it, now those days are done.

Re: Why mixing drinks is bad for me

hey i posted here because there will be no thread, no advice, nothing. just people who might have been there before but never candidly admitted it 3 months later. and sympathetic people, to bat.

i can't post on a predominantly white young people's web forum cos i'm "weird".

it'd be a different story if i was boasting about learning how to tolerate alcohol, except i'm too old for that kind of sport. :')

I think I missed the conference where they said mixing drinks was ever good for you. My bad.

Eh, no worries. Just didn't want a gem of a post like this one to get buried and completely disappear over time. I would have loved to have seen you place the kitten in your puke in your drunken state. Classic.

You read that? Avert your eyes. Do not read it out loud. Surely it will open a metaphysical doorway to R'lyeh.

there was no conference. it's all trial and error for me.

the first time i got that piss drunk was in march 2005, where i sat sobering up at the end of the line at King George Station of our wonderful rapid transit system.

the second time was july 2007. i ate part of dinner, and went to bed. when i awoke, it took about a half hour to get to the emetic stage.

after ten minutes, i had enough sense to take a train back to Surrey Central Station.

so i am not violent while in a disassociative state, just senseless.

hence, the poor kitten in the sink incident.

now let me tell you, that kitten was pissed at me the next morning! only at the time i had NO CLUE why he was meowing loudly at me.

It just so happens after talking to my friend Wayne, a fellow Canadian-born Japanese, that I realized that my trusty Kodak digital camera was in its travel case by my side throughout this incident.

I have yet to master how to take pictures and videos while in a disassociative state of mind.

My hypothesis about why this is so is when I am in drunktard mode, I am only able to vomit and drink more booze.

Me, I start stuffing food in my mouth like I did'nt have anything to eat in a month when I used to get drunk off my ass. To ease the nausea if I do drink too much.

today i discovered that having dinner before drinking helps get the body drunk before the mind becomes clouded.

Re: Why mixing drinks is bad for me

Sometimes I eat some light food before I drink, to keep from getting totally wrecked too quickly. Since I realize alcohol is absorbed directly through the stomach.

+1 to sageb1 for the wild experience he expressed in the OP. Wow. You are a true party animal.

Re: Why mixing drinks is bad for me

yes, the party animal in me also considered that the ale experience was party time too.
after drinking 40 percent of the ale, i announce i am drunk.
i also noticed the tyramine reaction due to histamines derived from putting raspberries in a wheat ale.

for sure, raspberry wine should bring me some painful regrets.

Why mixing drinks is bad for me

I suspect there are several good reasons for limiting the access. My only questions is that there were some very good instructions for proper mixing contained with in. Is this now posted any where else on the forum?

Re: Why mixing drinks is bad for me

I am reporting on my recent experience with a bottle of Heineken.

It was the best drank ever, cos I am using a new substance to prepare for that bottle: 25 mg diphenhydramine the previous day before, followed by allegra 12 hrs 4 hours before.

It also helped to have had only 3 hours of sleep.

So picture me 3 hours later passed out on my bed, having to deal with a friend who I didn't want to meet or anything.

After 25 text messages my friend left a voice mail telling that he assumes I don't want to meet him.

I still don't know his mobile's make and model number, or why he won't meet me in Tsawwassen. Maybe he's hiding a girl from me or something.

Craig used to be a friend before he hooked up with the native lady missing one leg who was mixing muscle relaxants and morphine: :o

After that he got kicked out of public housing (which is sorta like HUD except worse) for not keeping his place clean, which perpetuates rats and cockroaches.

So he moved to the Okanagan.

Plus, this guy was dropped on his head as a kid.

A normal person would have never ruined his credit so he has to use prepaid mobiles. But he got conned into giving a mobile to that one legged lady friend of his.

On a contract.

So in most of the voicemails I heard him complain that my texting him is wasting his minutes. it's not really, not if you get a good plan.

oh wait, he's on prepaid. the only good plan is with Virgin, or maybe Rogers.

Gee, I wonder if marijuana mixes well with allegra or benadryl.

I know it does with cetirizine, cos even tho I know it's working now, there isn't a psychoactive reaction like benadryl (diphenhydramine).

before anyone accuses me of abusing antihistamines, i'm following the instructions on the packages.

i take allegra 12 hours in the morning, cetirizine at night for hives, and occassionally, benadryl as sleep aid.

if i take benadryl in the AM, then i have a reaction which reminds me of a pot high mixed with a drunktard waddle. it's horrible because when you do pass out at home you have forgettable nightmares.

why? well, your mind knows it's on diphenhydramine. it's telling you to stop taking it when you get the nightmares!!

today, the reaction to Heinekens was prolly mainly the 3 hrs of sleep last night.

Tho I'll recheck and see if allegra is counterindicated with ethanol.

It was only 375ml of 5 percent bier for God's sake!
