Does it count if you have been to a state but only stopped there to eat or just pass by the state by car? I'm trying to go to as many states as I can? What's your opinion?

if u either A) eat in a state or B) poop in one, you've been there.

In my opinion it counts if you've stopped there (not flown over). Although, it might be more memorable if you got out of the car and took in some of the more unique local attractions as opposed to getting a Starbucks coffee in every state.

I think it can count if you just drive through it, especially if you drive a decent stretch of it and get a flavor for it.

Now, if you just cut cross a half-mile section, then it probably shouldn't count.

i agree with you. it does count if drive through the state for a long time and admire the surroundings.
