Has there ever been an Asian American serial killer?
I'm currently writing a story about an Asian American serial killer. He's a cross between Patrick Bateman and Jack the Ripper. Basically, he's an investment banker by day, but moonlights as a serial killer at night. Only he isn't imagining things...
But I'm curious as to whether there have been any real life Asian American serial killers. I know that there was one guy who killed six people simultaneously during a hunting trip, but I don't think he counts.
Another question: has there ever been a fictional Asian American serial killer? I know there are plenty of stereotypical Asian villians, but to my recollection, I have never seen an Asian American serial killer in cinema or TV.
If so, then my story will be the first! And yes, there will be some stereotypes. This serial killer is an Ivy League-educated i-banker working at a major firm by day. The stress of his job--plus the fact that he never really recovered from domineering parents--takes its toll on him and he preys on innocent victims at night as a way to release his stress. Basically, my story deconstructs the model minority myth and how the pressures of working in a high-stress environment can take its mental toll on individuals.
