East Coast political campaigns
About a week-and-a-half ago, a friend was passing through Boston. He picked up some campaign literature on a Sam Yoon, who's running for Boston city councilmember at-large.
I checked with an Asian American progressive in Boston, who said that different politically active Asians are endorsing him, but progressives are holding back. (Taking a wait-and-see approach, I guess.)

As mentioned in the New York Press:
Mayoral candidate C. Virginia Fields' campaign got caught, recently, distributing a flyer bearing the likenesses of a multiracial crowd around her.
What's wrong with that?
It seems that some of the non-black minorities (Asian and Latino) had been edited into the picture. (Alleged flyer picture below...)
As reported in Marching Orders blog:
When she held a press conference to respond to the controversy, she was flanked by Asian, Black, Latino, and white supporters.
Later, she fired her long-time campaign manager, who in turn fired back saying that Fields was fully aware of the photoshop job and had pushed for the flier to be distributed against his advice.
Not sure how the fake Asians had been discovered, but I guess it just goes to show that only "real" Asians will do for campaign photos. Hmm, maybe it's time for a new start-up -- "Rent-an-Asian".
