Are Mongoloid peoples meant to be carnivorous?
This is a serious question. Asians (East and Central) tend to have have larger and shovel-shaped incisors, which are better for eating meat. And I've discovered that despite my attempts to eat a variety of veggies, I tend to produce a lot of flatulence than other people when I eat things like onions and broccoli. I still eat my veggies, but think I might be inately less tolerant of vegetable fibre than Caucasians and Africans. Just a thought. . . On the other hand, with something like 1.5 billion Mongoloid people on this planet, it would be a good thing for the enviroment if we didn't all go back to eating mostly meat.

Er, you just didn't use mongoloid did you? Isn't that term a throwback of racist psuedoscience? Anyways, I know guys who work out a lot, take protein shakes, and they all pass a lot of gas. : |

Yeah, it is an outdated term. Sorry. I'm mostly talking about the people who come from northern Asia, and couldn't think of a better term. And I realize that different populations aren't all that different to each other, that race is a social rather than biological concept, and that different populations only differ in the average frequency of certain traits, etc.

Re: Are Mongoloid peoples meant to be carnivorous?
Back in the 80s, Japan used the excuse that foreign beef wasn't well-suited to Japanese long intestines in order to extend their usual agricultural protection. Between that and the Japanese stereotype that people who eat lots of meat take really smelly shits, I always figured they must be less suited to a red-meat diet, not more.

this is why the chinese can eat crab and lobster with out the assistance of crackers (do chinese restaurants even have crackers for patrons to use?). this is why my dad and grandparents and almost every older chinese person that i've met chew up the bones of spareribs and chicken feet and spit them out in a nice wet mush. this is why we only have spoons and chopsticks, and not knives, in our table settings. it all makes sense. |

I don't know about sharper, but north Asians, more often than other groups of people, often have incisors that have a slight crosswise curvature to them, with the concave surface facing backwards. Bite into an apple and look at the marks your incisors leave. If they are more or less flat lines, you have the kind of dentition that is more common in western Europe and southern Asia. If they a slight arc to them, then you have the kind of dentition that is more common in northern Asia and among native Americans. |

Re: Are Mongoloid peoples meant to be carnivorous?
I thought people use nut-crackers (also called crab crackers) for lobsters and crab. I don't really know for sure though, since I'm allergic to both.
