I carry a nail clipper on my keychain for easy access. I don't know any guys who voluntarily rip off their fingernails.

I use a nailclipper nowadays. Used to tear at nails a long time ago. Then again, I used to be a nailbiter.

Rip as in how? Grasping with teeth and forcefully pulling it off or biting a bit and then taking that protruding piece and tearing at it? Somehow I have envisaged a person remove the ENTIRE nail. That would be wrong.
And painful.

ouch.......my roommate used to bite his nails....but i wouldn't think he was a "guy thing." just a bad habit, i think.

I remember at a part time job that a girl asked me that. She said she digged guys that cut their nails in this unconventional way.
I thought that it was typical of guys to do so, based on the girl's comment.

i bite my nails off only on my left hand. i think that at night when i sleep i bite them. then during the day i just bite them to even the nail out. kinda weird
