40 can't-live-without Hong Kong foods

*Homer drool*

I don't care what y'all say. Hong Kong people know how to eat. Damn it, real Chinese food is top notch. Ever since I came back from my last trip I have been pining to go back and enjoy everything all over again. And that was 5 years ago!!!!! There is nothing like it here...bland comparisons at best.

Re: 40 can't-live-without Hong Kong foods

Hi,
Unlike its more restrained Sunday brunch counterpart, Hong Kong-style French toast is for when you're stressed out and looking for a warm, deep-fried hug. It's two pieces of toast slathered with peanut butter or kaya jam, soaked in egg batter, fried in butter and served with still more butter and lots of syrup. Too much of this will send you to an early grave, but it's the perfect comfort-food combination of simple flavours and textures: sweet and savoury, soft and crispy.I like it very much.

Oooo... that sounds good. You actually don't have to travel that far for something similar:

The La Isla version is quite good.

Re: 40 can't-live-without Hong Kong foods

Yeah, I miss the Honky food too. The favour was great, so was the explosive diarrhea.
(I enjoy using that phrase, takes my mind off the problem with the house, and IVF and everything else)

A lot of the food is really greasy but it is so tasty. The food is so full of flavor.
