Good friend who seems to be interested in white guys

Disclaimer: I have absolutely no romantic feelings for this friend.

I have this very good friend of mine. She's Chinese and is from the Midwest. She's one of the sweetest people I know and I feel comfortable telling her about a lot of things that I wouldn't tell other people. For example, romantic problems and issues.

Over the course of three years in college, she's told me about 3 guys she's been involved with. They're all white. She also tells me about guys who liked her who she did not like back. They've also all been white.

I have absolutely no problem with this since I believe everybody has a right to pursue whoever they want. I would only have an issue if she put down Asian guys in order to appeal more to white guys, but I'm certain that she does not do this. She's from the Midwest, and she doesn't hang out in "ethnic enclaves", so most of her social interactions are bound to involve white people more than Asian people.

Plus, I tell her about girls I like and girls I've dated and such, and many of them are white. So it goes both ways.

However, lately, I've been increasingly curious about whether or not she's attracted to Asian guys. It seems inappropriate on many levels, but I'd just like to know. Maybe she's like me: open to all races and ethnicities, but mostly surrounded by white people. Or maybe she rules out Asian guys? If so, do I want to know? Will my respect for her diminish?

So Asian guy is really good friends with Asian girl who only seems to like white guys. He doesn't have a problem with it. Should he?

you're asking if you should have a problem with it? i mean, if you don't have a problem with it, then you don't have a problem with it. you ain't her daddy.

You know, asking if you SHOULD have a problem with it...means you DO have a problem with it. And asking for validation on here is tantamount to opening up a can of worms, eating them and then puking them all out.

to relate, i can't say i am personally completely accepting of this.

i know two Asian women in my social circles who are like this. they are not my immediate friends and i would rather not be their immediate friends. but i am not so bothered that i feel the need to talk to them about their dating choices.

Ever since my best friend moved to Florida and got dumped by the Asian dude that made her move down there in the first place, she's been dating nobody but white guys. Why? Cuz all the Asians she knows or dated are all thugs. I pleaded with her to come back to Chicago so I can introduce her to Asian guys but she said...never mind. Let's just say we don't talk about that anymore.

she needs to date canadian asians from the good part of canada, vancouver!

and i don't mean south asians, gang associates with Asian blood, and their wannabes.

Just so you all know, the white GF I date NEVER associated with Asians.

They also have no South Asian friends.

It's like being in a WASP home on the East Coast, except that with eBay Vancouver closing end of September, it is like a typical West Coast middle class family whose social circle is white bread suburban with mortgage, two families (the GF is a divorcee and her daughter and son-in-law is a 6-person family, the eldest daughter by ex-BF, two sons, and the youngest daughter).

Plus, nobody likes wasabi.

Heck, I use to know a girl in my badminton team who exclusively dated Whites. Her first two bfs however, were Asian. I find it ironic how she hangs around with *mostly* Asian, but porns herself to White blokes (she once tried to pick up a 40s year old bloke at the next bbq)....

Funnily enough, none of the other Asian girls in the team liked her....

I used to know one girl like this, not a close friend though.

Not sure it is common or not, but she had a tendency to try very hard to "prove" her Asianness. Compensating I guess.

But in the end of the day, she's still known as the girl with the hick white boy-friend.

Why do they need to be converted? They aren't going to positively contribute to the Asian gene pool, so let them out.

But yeah. We've all got a little internal colonization going on telling us who is desirable and all. IR relationships can work, but it takes a lot of critical inwards reflection...maybe more so than other relationships? But then you need to also be willing to consider how sex and gender play out in a relationship too yeah?

I had a friend like that but I was stupid enough to have feelings for her. I never even gave her my number she contacted me. We'd see each other almost every weekend but she just wanted someone to colt with. She didn't know anyone.
