I never watch Leno but flipping through I seriously thought I misheard. Ann Coulter on Leno right after George Carlin. What a mix of characters.
Anyway, what I got out of it is that Coulter has no heart but she's not serious when she says all that stuff. She has a serious point somewhere behind the insults but she just really enjoys liberals getting worked up over what she says. It's what she lives for.

Coulter actually got along VERY well with Leno and Carlin. It just goes to show that she's doesn't genuinely hate the people she insults. It's just the way she is.

This pretty much affirms my strong suspicions that Coulter's shtick is a sophisticated work of performance art, akin to the late Andy Kaufman, but on a larger scale and on the political platform. She plays both sides like puppets, and revels at how the left shrieks at her every word and smirks inwardly when the right nods their heads, no matter how crazy her ideas are. She is always in character, always 'on,' and this is why i think she chooses to remain a pundit and commentator, rather than take a position as an actual policy maker. We may never know what she really believes, because it's all a joke to her.

Why waste your time with shit like that? I know it may sound corny but ultimately the point of getting involved in politics in any way, whether you are an actual politician or just a commentator, is to bring about some kind of change or to influence others to do so. Otherwise, why waste your time?


I mean, I believe what you're saying - because the shit she says is pretty outrageous, but once again, WHY??? She needs a life.

^ Seriously. For a spokenwoman of the far-right she sure does wear some skimpy clothing. She doesn't actually practice conservativism. She doesn't have to. She gets paid to defend conservatives, not to be one.

Some surprising things I learned about her. She was editor of the UMich Law Review and founded a chapter of the Federalist Society there.
