Re: Curry in Hot Garlic Sauce: China now sees India as "threat"

Now? Actually there have been dangerous disagreements between India and China for quite a while.

They fought on their border in the 1960s.

Indo-China War of 1962

http://www.globalsecurity.org/milita...o-prc_1962.htm

China is a potential economic threat to India if they can do in IT and services what they are doing in manufacturing.

The biggest threat to China is internal oppression, corruption, economic disparities, organized crime, failure to deal with ecological issues like polution and threats like SARS etc.

Nobody poses a military threat to China except maybe Muslim radicals in the western region of China if they ever get infected with the radical virus.

Of course maybe if Ming the Magnificent in NK goes out of his mind he might be a threat to China.

But as long as China doesn't make a move on Taiwan or Russian Siberia they have not much to worry about militarily.

Re: Curry in Hot Garlic Sauce: China now sees India as "threat"

interesting read.

It'll be interesting to see how India rises with a service-based foundation compared to China's manufacturing-based foundation. I really don't see how America will be able to stay ahead in the IT race any longer as India looks to be voraciously taking over the entire field. With all the outsourcing going on, America is going to run out of resources when their "foriegn power" decides to go rogue and build their own companies.

i truly hope so...i find it hysterical (and kinda amazing) that these neighbours are mirroring eachother to such a degree in some aspects...in terms of economic power and population growth...it would be excellent if they could rise peacefully and supportively together...

I dunno... India and China have no major reason to fight one another. But both have bitter rivalries with a neighbor. So if India were to provide assistance to Taiwan, or China to Pakistan, that could start a major shitstorm - to say nothing of the fact that these two gigantic nations are both rapidly modernizing, and could soon become the world's greatest consumers of / competitors for petroleum and other finite resources. To me, that is the bigger concern.

China is already Pakistan's principle economic partner and weapons supplier.
