Women, Cars, and guys that own the cars.

(Posting this up in the Men's forum since I'm curious about the guys' take on things.)

I remember Dave Chappelle talking about women and cars.

Men have nice cars, not cause they like nice cars, because they know women like nice cars. That's how it goes. Cause men are hunters...and the car's the bait! And the women comes here and goes, "Oh, nice Porsche!" Gotcha, bitch!

Which brings me up to this. I went out to dinner with a female friend of mine last night. I told her I was planning on selling my Celica in favor of my fugly Laser (which is cheaper on insurance and won't make as much money as selling my Celica). She got all sad and stuff. Told me, "No, don't sell it...it's cute!"

Which had me wondering, what does this tell me about this girl? Materialistic? Do ladies see cars as a man's economic status? Not that I'm making a big deal outta this on a personal level since this girl's just a friend and all (). But it is an interesting subject that I'd like to discuss.

Oh yeah, just in case anyone was curious, here are the two cars in question:

I love my Celica and my DSM. Selling the Celica purely for money reasons (school and all). But to the ladies that see the cars, look at the mofo behind the wheel, not the car.

I think that would be Good Charlotte, the whiny pansy ass "punk" boys...same as New Found Glory, Sum 41...you get the drift. And yeah, there are many females out there that are simply into what you as a man have to offer material-wise, unfortunately I have yet to date anyone out of that spectrum as my last couple of relationships were with very shallow individuals. Time to get back on the horse. Honestly, if you want a goth type of chick, make sure your car is tore up...I hear tell they love that broke ass state of mind.

It's true, many, many, many females dig guys with nice cars.

Having a nice ride can certainly add points to your overall worth score. So long as you're not driving something you found the day before, and it's somewhat presentable, I think that's good enough.

I think subconciously materialistic girls think about how good they will look in the car. Ever notice how some really butt ugly (visually and personality) guys have these really nice looking trophy girls hang on their arm and wonder how they land them? They either have a shitload of money or have a nice ride. It's made me wonder about how girls will go towards assholes instead of nice guys. (I'm not a nice guy btw, so don't think I'm referring to myself) I think it's rare when a girl will choose the nice broke guy who drives the old 89' buick rustbucket compared to rich asshole who drives a convertible top mercedez.

Seriously though - it's all about what you want to be seen in. As shallow as that sounds. So no, a girl is NOT gonna want to ride around in a beat-up '89 Buick when she can be seen in a droptop Benz.

Car: portable status symbol for dummies. Any rich dumbass can drop tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars on a car and make it obvious how rich he is. It takes someone smart to know how to spend his money to distinguish himself as rich when he's nowhere near his car.
