Tokyo Street Fashion
Stumbled across this site: http://www.style-arena.jp/english/index.htm
It looks at day-to-day Japanese street fashion. They got them styles. Check out the best snap awards and see for yourself. |
Re: Tokyo Street Fashion
Oh you bastard... I LOVE how these girls dress- it's sooooo cool and trendy! Lots of my friends have accused me of looking at how a girl dresses rather than how a girl looks, leading me to call a girl beautiful when she in fact is not. I don't know what the hell they are talking about. I hope that one day, when I get a gf, that she can dress like that (well it really doesn't matter, but it would a very stylish plus to have).

Re: Tokyo Street Fashion
it's weird how the trendy ones in japan seem to dress in similar styles as those in soho. like i can spot a japanese person like that based on their clothing style.

Re: Tokyo Street Fashion
interesting to see how different neighborhoods
have people dressing similarily. all the layering makes some of them look like homeless people. fashion is fun. |
Re: Tokyo Street Fashion
Harajuku...I heard that term in old Gwen Stefani and Eve's latest "collaboration." Eve busts her flow and uses the term.

Re: Tokyo Street Fashion
I've always been more partial to the entire HK fashion scene in terms of hair and style, tho undoubtedly the tokyo brand has some kickass themes. However, the entire...what is it...kogyaru is it? The entire kogyaru fashion sense just makes me want to scoop out my own eyeballs. Why anyone would want to color themselves so that they look like heathcliff is beyond me.

Re: Tokyo Street Fashion
No prob. But I dont think its "wierd" at all. I think its really cool, its like creative recycling. Like they take something from before, and then re-interpret into something else that suits them
Heres a thread I started a while back on Japanese Street Fashion and Style. http://forums.yellowworld.org/showthread.php?t=21136 For those that are really into it, theres so many style categories, I cant keep up either. My friend works at a mens clothing store and they have this special lingo they use. Like Kirei-kaji, Ame-kaji, etc.. even Jigoro style. Like when Im not doing the B-kei thing, I also sometimes like Jigoro, but my girl says I look like typical chimpira. Like , whats wrong with white pointy leather boots, narrow white jeans with rips, and an open unbuttoned black shirt that shows off your chest and gold necklaces  |
Re: Tokyo Street Fashion
I took another look and it's not as weird as i thought; the first time the first picture that loaded looked like a bright magenta poncho/turtleneck and that was kinda strange looking but the rest does look pretty classy/edgy. Now I just need to learn all that random terminology you keep throwing around and I'd be SET. AME-KAJI, BIYATCHES!!!
