I love H Mart

Posted 10-05-2008 at 01:10 AM by tommyhtown
I went to H Mart today for grocery. I was pleasantly surprised with the 80's music that was playing thru out the store. I think I will request 90's grunge music next time. The music is why H Mart is now my favorite supermarket. Oh, vegetables are generally cheaper than any other supermarket also.

What?? You can request music?

But seriously, I love shopping there too. You can get a whole tubful of peeled garlic for $2. And those enoki mushrooms are 2 for a $1. The veggies and fruit are cheaper and there is a bigger variety. The only thing is it's half an hour away from me.

I can request but whether they'll play is another matter.

Veggies are cheap. Just bought some green beans and green onions last weekend. It's only 10 mins away from my place. This one in Houston has opened for less than a year.

Yep, I miss living so close to the Korean markets, ... but don't feel like driving down to Carrollton.

How does H Mart compare to Ko Mart?

H Mart is cleaner because it's just opened. It also has better and more selection. And like I said, veggies are cheaper than most places. It has Tours Les Jours inside. More importantly, better eye candies.

The food from the vendors seems to taste better at Ko Mart though. Having said that, a couple them located to H Mart.

Ours opened a little over a year or so ago and it's still pretty clean. I think it's cuz it's in a semi-wealthy burb and lots of the non-Asians shop there too. It's total mayhem on the weekends though....shopping cart and people jams all over. It's like grocery shopping in Asia. I <3 it.

Dang, I just bought Chilean sea bass the other day from H-Mart. I don't know what to do with it. Don't feel like pan-searing it. The girl who prepared the sampling did it that way at H Mart and it was not as good as I had hoped. She was cute though that's why I bought it.
