"hot air"
a british friend in HK (who was raised in HK) used that term once when we were at dimsum. i couldn't stop laughing because it was just a part of his regular vocabulary.

Heh, I think there is no real translation. Gotta translate situation by situation. But a lot of the time, it seems to be gas. or at least to have gas as a side effect.

I thought yeet hay contextually meant something you eat is bad for you. My mom says it all the time every time I eat spicy or junk food.

it means you've eaten too much food that is spicy or greasy. it can also be used to describe a food that is too spicy or greasy. the term comes from the fact that spicy/greasy foods are usually fried.
